Tonight’s Top Pick is The Last Movie Stars, the documentary miniseries about the “enigmatic personas, incredible talent and love story of actors Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman. Directed by Ethan Hawke, it will stream on HBO Max.

The Last Movie Stars, 3:01 a.m., HBO Max. Premiere. From Paul Newman’s planned but never fulfilled memoir comes this project featuring insight from people like Paul and Joanne Woodward, “close friends, family and artistic collaborators,” new interviews with Sally Field and Martin Scorsese and voice acting from people like Karen Allen, George Clooney, Oscar Isaac, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Zoe Kazan, Laura Linney and Sam Rockwell. This will either be fucking amazing or incredibly tedious. Limited series, six episodes available.


Rap Sh!t, 3:01 a.m., HBO Max. Premiere. “Follows two estranged high school friends from Miami, Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), who reunite to form a rap group.” Created by Issa Rae. Two episodes available.


American Horror Stories, 12:01 a.m., FX on Hulu. Second season premiere. “Dollhouse.” The headline guest star is Denis O’Hare, who plays the creepy keeper of the dolls.


The Orville: New Horizons, 12:01 a.m., Hulu. “Midnight Blue.” 


Moonhaven, 3:01 a.m., AMC+. “Mada.” “On the brink of The Bridge, Paul prepares for some difficult goodbyes.”
