What's On Tonight (Sunday): Giving short films the Spotlight

Spotlights: A Showtime Short Film Series

Survey says! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, July 10!

Our Top Pick tonight is the short film anthology Spotlights: A Showtime Short Film Series (Showtime, 7 p.m.). Each episode of the half-hour program features 2 or 3 short films from emerging filmmakers. Tonight is the final episode. You might not know any of the people in or making these shorts, but one day they could be a household name. I love short films.

Elsewhere, ABC breaks out the fun & games, CNN profiles PatagoniaCobra strikes the UK, Dark Winds calm, Epix celebrates Women Who RockGrantchester finds more crime to solve, SkyMed takes medical drama to the skies, Arizona has some United Shades, A&E loves the WWE, Tuca & Bertie hit the streets, Westworld grabs a shovel, Riverdale needs Sabrina, Bounce airs its Johnson, NBC wants to know You Are, HBO explores Anarchists, and Showtimes goes to the Supreme.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

Dark Winds (AMC+, 3 a.m.): SEASON FINALE. Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito descend on the hiding place of the Buffalo Society, only to be confronted with hard decisions that could change the outcome of the rest of their lives. The show will return for season 2. (Last week's episode: AMC, 9 p.m.)

Evil (Paramount+, 3 a.m.): Sister Andrea's career and sanity are on trial as she battles Leland. Meanwhile the team investigates an alleged angel sighting.

πŸ“Ί Little House on the Prairie (Peacock, now): A couple years ago, it was announced that a remake of Little House on the Prairie was in early development. That means, you still have time to revisit the original series about the Ingalls family (Michael Landon, Karen Grassle, Melissa Gilbert, Melissa Sue Anderson) and their farm in late 19th century Minnesota, all based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's best-selling series. Yes, it is dated, but some of the episodes still hit all the right notes.

SkyMed (Paramount+, 3 a.m.): SEASON ONE. In this Canadian co-production medical drama, we follow the intense character journeys and high-stakes medical rescues, heartbreaks and tribulations of budding nurses and pilots flying air ambulances.

⭐ Spotlights: A Showtime Short Film Series (Showtime, 7 p.m.): SEASON FINALE. He Wants to Know My Number addresses the double standard targeting female sexuality... In Ponyboi, an intersex sex worker looks for love and a way out of his seedy life in New Jersey.

We Hunt Together (Showtime, 7:30 p.m.): The hunt for serial killer The Birdman intensifies as Lola and Jackson desperately search for a link to Freddy, who is playing her own dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with the killer.

Who Do You Think You Are? (NBC, 7 p.m.): SEASON PREMIERE. 4 years since its run on TLC ended and 3 years since NBC announced its return to the network, this genealogy documentary series is back! Up first getting family tree treatment in this revival: Billy Porter. I really like it, though it is inferior to the original British series.
