It's rare that I (intentionally) repeat myself but this is important. We're being fed a pack of lies about how abortion was always illegal and immoral before Roe v. Wade. This is untrue through most of human history. This is even more of a lie if you go back far enough where men understood nothing about women's cycles. But I'm just going back to the late 1800's where there was a turning point in the US. It has more to do with race than you'd think and and an awful lot to do with overwhelmingly male doctors trying to get rid of female midwife competition. Tragedies abounded It's important to understand that banning abortion has always been a power grab and assertion of male dominance. I find it reprehensible that we've learned to shun those who discriminate by race but think it's okey-dokey for men to make decisions for women about their own bodies.[Guardian]
And I don't care what your personal opinion about abortion is. Don't have one if you don't want one. But your beliefs and my beliefs do not extend over anyone but ourselves. The US was built upon that.
Political discussion welcome.
