What's On Tonight (Wednesday): And it turned into a Kugelblitz

The Umbrella Academy

So uncivilized! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, June 22!

Our Top Pick tonight is the third season of the time traveling superhero series The Umbrella Academy (Netflix, 3 a.m.). It's a show, based on a Dark Horse comic book series, I started but haven't gotten around to finishing the second season. Still, I really, really like it, even if its dramatics sometimes fall short of its excellent pulpiness. In the third season, the team (Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David CastaΓ±eda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher, etc.) is stuck in an alternative world.

Elsewhere, the Paranormal returns to WellingtonObi-Wan gets close to Vader, Lost Chernobyl Tapes are found, Gen Z Snowflakes get an awakening, The Flash fights, and California is on fire.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

The Hidden Lives of Pets (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SEASON ONE. Hugh Bonneville hosts this docuseries that I assume is fact-checking The Secret Life of Pets.

πŸŽ₯ Love & Gelato (Netflix, 3 a.m.): Lina (Susanna Skaggs) makes a promise to her sick mother that she'll spend the summer before college in Rome, where she falls for the city, the people - and the "gelato."

Ms. Marvel (Disney+, 3 a.m.): Episode 3 of Kamala doing stuff.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Disney+, 3 a.m.): SERIES FINALE. Obi Wan is drawn into a confrontation with Vader, as Luke's fate hangs in the balance.

πŸ“Ί Roseanne (Peacock, now): I enjoy The Conners quite a bit, especially because it doesn't have too much central focus on the adults of the original series, who I find better serving as supporting characters. Original recipe Roseanne is still some excellent entertainment in my book. Those first four seasons are phenomenal, and the scenes between Lecy Goranson and Sara Gilbert is among the best kid chemistry in all television.

Snowflake Mountain (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SEASON ONE. A bunch of spoiled adult Gen Zers must endure a survival retreat. Exactly what you wanted to watch!

⭐ The Umbrella Academy (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SEASON THREE. "The season ... will explore and explain the mystery of the Sparrow Academy, Hotel Oblivion, and the upcoming Kugelblitz caused by The Umbrella Academy that will swallow all of time and reality."
