What's On Tonight (Sunday): Blowin' in the Dark Winds

Dark Winds

Order on the court! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, Jun 26!

Our Top Pick tonight is the new period drama Dark Wins (AMC+, 3 a.m.). Based on the Leaphorn & Chee books, the show is a 21st century update to Tony Hillerman's books about Navajo police officers Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) and Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) investigating crimes in the 1970s. It is quite atmospheric and in touch with its Native roots. I really enjoy it. Jessica Matten, Rainn Wilson, and Noah Emmerich also star.

Elsewhere, Sister Andrea gets EvilWestworld confuses us for another season, Starz profiles Ghislaine Maxwell, The Chi is back, BET gives out awards, Duncanville has jobs, Birdgirl thinks positive, Showtime Spotlights more short films, and Arthur Ashe gets documentary treatment.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

⭐ Dark Winds (AMC+, 3 a.m.): Leaphorn's niece celebrates her Kinaaldรก as Leaphorn retrieves the bodies of the murder victims. Manuelito and Chee investigate the whereabouts of the missing Mormon family. (Last week's episode: AMC, 9 p.m.)

๐Ÿ“บ Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Tubi, now): Spend Pride Month with the original Fab Five, my favorite Queer Eye gang (Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley, Jai Rodriguez). The show isn't quite as perky as the spirit-lifting, happy-peppy Netflix revival, but I love it for that.
