Planet Earth: Dynasties II |
Class dismissed! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, June 11!
Our Top Pick tonight is the nature docuseries Dynasties (BBC American, 8 p.m.). Like the first season, each episode follows the life of a particular critter of this fascinating world. The series is a BBC Earth documentary -- and branded as a Planet Earth title in some places -- so the quality is certainly greater than others of the ilk.
Elsewhere, the Classroom goes their separate ways, Amy Schumer throws a party, Lifetime has a Dirty Little Secret, Chris Gethard might Lie, Usopp and Chopper transform, and

This Weekend in Pop Culture (9:30 p.m.): What pop culture have you consumed lately? This is our weekly thread for you talk about it.
STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME
Amy Schumer's Parental Advisory (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SPECIAL. Amy Schumer welcomes her favorite comedians to the stage in this special about family life, from the pressures of parenting to the joys of remarriage. Watch all you want.
πΊ Dora the Explorer (Paramount+, now): Like other youthful Paramount properties including The Fairly OddParents and The Loud Family, the children's animated series Dora the Explorer has a live-action remake in the works. PLUS, it also has an animated remake in the works, too. So many Doras! The original show, which aired 8 seasons across many years, follows 7-year-old Latina Dora Marquez, who goes on adventures with a purple backpack and her anthropomorphic monkey companion Boots and sometimes butts heads with the thieving fox Swiper. For a kids show, it's somewhat enjoyable. And I have a big soft spot for the live-action movie, which I found uneven but still an absolute delight.
Murdoch Mysteries (Ovation, 7 p.m.): A vagrant camp is opposite a house where a murder took place, hence the family suspect one of those homeless people committed the murder.
WHAT ELSE IS ON
America's Funniest Home Videos: Animal Edition (National Geographic Wild, 7 p.m.)
π 8 P.M. EASTERN / π 7 P.M. CENTRAL
π₯ The Card Counter (HBO): A gambler attempts to give guidance to a young man who is out for revenge against a mutual enemy.
π₯ Caribbean Summer (Hallmark Channel): A news producer heads to the Caribbean for relaxation, only to fall victim to a rental scam. Serendipitously, she befriends the real owner and discovers fun and romance.
π₯ The Curious Case of Dolphin Bay (Disney Channel): A group of friends are spending the summer working as interns at a research center, which is researching unnatural changes in the local reef. After strange events begin to occur, the friends suspect a local legend may be tied to the reef's problems.
⭐ Dynasties (BBC America): "On the vast Zambian plains, a clan of hyenas must pull together to survive. The seemingly desolate territory could be the key to their success, and holding onto it until the wildebeest return will be vital for the clan's survival." I wanna title this episode "The Shenzi, Banzai & Ed Story"
Murdoch Mysteries (Ovation): Murdoch has to investigate after a murder is transmitted over James Pendrick's new invention.
