What's on Tonight (Friday): Urge to Make Thin Lizzie Reference Rising…

via Sporadic Musngs

The Boys is not for everyone.  It is ultra-violent, perverse, gross and completely nihilistic.  That said, it is also a hell of a lot of fun and manages to find moments for all of its characters to show their humanity.  Even the sociopathic Superman stand-in Homelander is proven to be a pitiable product of a traumatic upbringing.  That said, there was also a scene last season where the good guys get attacked by a man with a super elastic penis.  This isn't exactly Downton Abbey is what I'm trying to say.

Elsewhere...

*LMN has the awesomely named film, Here Kills the Bride.  I doubt it's any good but bravo to whoever came up with that title.

*Hulu has a new gay rom-com film set on Fire Island, which is where all gay rom-coms are legally required to be set.

*AMC+ has another tax shelter film starring Michael Rooker and Bruce Willis that  doesn't really star either one of them.

Of last week's three Top Picks the only one I've been able to check out so far is Shoresy, and I wouldn't have it any other way.  I'll get around to Stranger Things and Obi-Wan eventually but anything that can make me laugh takes priority these days.  Stay safe, folks.
