The Deep End |
Oh, balls! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, May 18!
D
Our Top Pick tonight is the premiere of the docuseries The Deep End (Freeform, 9 p.m.). The show is Freeform's first big foray into documentary shows with others following this summer. This 4-part docuseries examines the spiritual leader Teal Swan, who has a large and loyal following. Is she running a cult? This seems like an attempt to answer that question.
Elsewhere, Fox thinks it Can Dance again, Adam Goldberg graduates, the Conners have weddings, Nova spotlights Ever Given, Colombian nature gets some spotlight, and hopefully we find out Who Killed Sara.

STREAMING
Love on the Spectrum: U.S. (Netflix, 3 a.m.): "Seven adults with autism dive headlong into a dating group to explore the unpredictable world of romance, tackling misconceptions about both themselves and how they want to live."
πΊ Quantum Leap (Roku, now): The remake that has been rumored and in production hell for years is finally coming to our screens this fall. That's plenty of time to revisit the early '90s classic with Scott Bakula as the time jumping Sam Beckett, who is striving to put right what once went wrong as he possesses other peoples' bodies. It's not like dream-walking. Also, Dean Stockwell! (RIP.) It was a quality show that NBC didn't quite know where to consistently place.

The Goldbergs (ABC): SEASON FINALE. Adam is (finally) graduating from high school, but Beverly is not coping well with the idea of an empty nest. With Geoff's encouragement, Erica decides to try out for Cyndi Lauper as a one-time backup singer replacement. This should be the series finale!!!✔️
The Wonder Years (ABC, 8:30 p.m.): SEASON FINALE. It's the end of the school year, and summer excitement is all around. Bill and Lillian each receive major career opportunities, and Dean and Keisa take shelter together as a tornado tears through. The Wonder Years will return!

Nova (PBS): The investigation into how the Ever Given container ship crashed into the Suez Canal in March 2021, causing a major supply chain crisis around the globe.
So You Think You Can Dance (Fox): SEASON PREMIERE. After three years away, so-called dancers are put to the dancefloor again! Cat Deeley is back and also returning after some time away is judge tWitch, who is joined by JoJo Siwa and Matthew Morrison.✔️

Theo turns to an unlikely source to help his mom through a rough patch. A Million Little Things will return because there are still 999,926 things to hash out. (I'm supposing there's one little thing confronted in each episode.)
