The First Lady |
Happy Memorial Day Eve! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, May 29!
Our Top Pick tonight is the anthology drama The First Lady (Showtime, 9 p.m.). The show has three stories that follow FLOTUSes Eleanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson), Betty Ford (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Michelle Obama (Viola Davis), each trying to carve their own path and manage their faults while also standing strong next to their POTUS husband. From the episodes I've seen, I really enjoy Pfeiffer. The rest I can do without, especially Davis.
Elsewhere, Cancellation League tallies the final points, Fear relents until another season, Percival keep some Riverdale control, Clare tires of being a Wife, the Man can't decipher needed plans, and PBS celebrates another Memorial Day.

πΊ Pretty Little Liars (HBO Max, now): The HBO Max reboot doesn't have a premiere date yet, so you still have time to squeeze in the 7-season original about 4 high school girls (Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell) who fracture upon the death of their friend and clique leader (Sasha Pieterse). They are later threatened by a mysterious person for the lies they've told. It is adolescent TV fun at times. There are also two (terrible) spinoffs.
