Better Call Saul: Slippin' Jimmy |
[*evil laughter*] Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, May 28!
Our Top Pick tonight is the animated prequel to the prequel Better Call Saul: Slippin' Jimmy (AMC+, now). The animated short-form series tells of the "misadventures of a young Jimmy McGill and his childhood friends in Chicago," including good friend Marco Pasternak. Each episode is also an homage to a 1970s work. While AMC+ originally planned for a daily release for the six-episode series, it ended up releasing all the episodes on Monday. As it's not new, I'm breaking my WOT rules picking this, but 1) I'm too lazy to find an alternative and 2) I picked/gif'd this show months ago.
Elsewhere, Transplant reintroduces scripted broadcast shows to Saturday, the Teen Titans team up with Super Hero Girls, Murdoch plays ball, and the Classroom goes for the Assassination.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME
⭐ Better Call Saul: Slippin' Jimmy (AMC+, now): In the finale, which was first planned for tonight but instead was actually released Monday: "At Camp Reformation, they'd seen every kind of man -- until they saw Jimmy McGill. Rebelling against whatever they got, Jimmy and Marco's friendship begins and sets Jimmy on a path to becoming a legend."
Murdoch Mysteries (Ovation, 7 p.m.): Murdoch's son Harry is visiting from boarding school when Julia and William are abducted by a vengeful foe.
πΊ Sabrina the Teenage Witch (Hulu / Paramount+ / Roku, now): While Netflix killed its dramatic reboot too early because... well, it's Netflix, the original '90s sitcom is available to stream. The show, which aired on ABC and then The WB, follows Sabrina Spellman (Melissa Joan Hart), who discovers on her 16th birthday that she is a witch and is guided by her aunts Hilda and Zelda (Caroline Rhea, Beth Broderick). However, the best most memorable part of the show was the cat Salem, voiced by Nick Bakay. He had some great lines.
π₯ Teen Titans Go! & DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse (Cartoon Network, 6 p.m.): "The Super Hero Girls and the Teen Titans reluctantly band together to fight a new threat to the universe." This movie was released on DVD and Blu-ray earlier this week. This is the linear premiere. In a month, it arrives on HBO Max.
