The Time Traveler's Wife |
10 more days for Emmy eligibly! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, May 22!
Our Top Pick tonight is the science fiction romance drama The Time Traveler's Wife (HBO, 9 p.m.). The show is a second attempt at adapting the Audrey Niffenegger novel about Henry (Theo James) born with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel. His wife (Rose Leslie) has trouble making it work as she (and viewers) can encounter Henry at various times of his life -- and vice versa. This Steven Moffat-helmed series is def influenced by his Doctor Who (think River Song) tenure. It's also messy and some pieces simply don't work. It's certainly doesn't read as prestige HBO. There's lots of man butt but no frontal.
Elsewhere, Cypress residents determine who are Saints and who are Sinners, Animation Domination concludes another season, S.W.A.T. stops terrorists, Stanley Tucci seeks Italy in London, Billy the Kid goes Chihuahua, First Ladies aggravate their husbands, Lucy Worsley gets to the madness of George III.
