What's On Tonight (Saturday): Fallen Angels ain't got no wings

Fallen Angels Murder Club

Let my people go! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, April 9!

Our Top Pick tonight is the second "episode" of Lifetime's new movie anthology series Fallen Angels Murder Club (Lifetime, 8 p.m.). The series, which premiered last Saturday, stars Toni Braxton an ex-con-turned-amateur sleuth set out to investigate a series of murders at her book club.

Elsewhere, ABC parts the Red Sea, Jake Gyllenhaal isn't ready for primetime, kids hand out awards, The CW adapts another British show, the Classroom is shocked by a backstory, Travel Channel goes to Hell, and Made in Abyss ends an excellent anime season.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

πŸ“Ί True Blood (HBO Max, now): The fantasy horror drama that ran for 80 episodes on HBO has a reboot in the works that could hit your small screen within the semi-foreseeable future. I've no clue if the show will include the original cast -- telepathic Anna Paquin, vampire Stephen Moyer, and humans Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley, and Ryan Kwanten, among others -- but showrunner Alan Ball is on board. Maybe it is time for the second wave of vampire rights.

Danger Force (Nickelodeon, 7 p.m.): It's Swellview's biggest night for superheroes, and Captain Man is not invited. Danger Force enlists Henry's help to make sure the night goes off without a hitch.

Murdoch Mysteries (Ovation, 7 p.m.): To solve an inmate's murder, Murdoch sends Ogden undercover at a woman's reformatory.

Hollis soon finds herself at the center of the investigation when a journalist who's reporting on the murder also winds up dead. (Part 2 of 2)

Would I Lie to You? (The CW, 8:30 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. A British panel show comes to America! "Celebrities try and ascertain truth from fiction with questions and stories." This adaptation is hosted by Evil's Aasif Mandvi while Matt Walsh and Sabrina Jalees serve as team captains. In this first episode, DulcΓ© Sloan, Hannah Pilkes, Richard Kind, and Santino Fontana guest star. Hopefully this has a better fate than Taskmaster.✔️

They get some occasional help from photographer Connie Stevens and cab driver Poncie Ponce.
