What's your best tip for cooking?

For myself, whenever I cook something somewhat complicated, I like to make sure the sink area is clear, then I run a sink of hot soapy water, so as I finish with each implement, bowl, etc., I just drop it straight in the water.

Keeps things tidy in my workspace, and also, if I need to use something again, I can get it cleaned off quickly, since it's already had a bit of a soak.

Then once the food is cooking, my washing up is already half done; I can finish it off quickly, and after the meal, there are only the plates and cutlery left.

This may have less utility if you use a dishwasher, but even then, giving everything a rinse first never hurts.

It's not a very exciting tip! But having systems to keep organised is the way I manage the world...

Elsewhere, in joyless cooking... I haven't watched this, I don't watch any of these. So why does youtube keep trying to take cooking fun away from me? It looks like this is just oats and bananas. Can you imagine having to work your way through eating just one of these, let alone a whole batch? So much chewing... and you'd definitely be... regular afterwards.

Here's a list to to provoke discussion - the 11 best spreadable foods in the world. I'm reading this after lunch and it's still making me hungry.
