The Book of Boba Fett |
He's no good to me dead! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, January 5!
Our Top Pick tonight is The Book of Boba Fett (Disney+, 3 a.m.), which tracks the feared bounty hunter's life after surviving Sarlacc. In this bizarrely titled Mandalorian spinoff, Fett (Temuera Morrison) now runs Jabba's old territory. He is aided by Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) and wants to rule with respect and not through fear and violence, [*rolls eyes to back of head*] despite, you know, living in the crime-ridden Outer Rim. There's also a flashback story about Fett's time immediately after escaping Sarlacc. I found the premiere quite disappointing.
Elsewhere, Sophia Bush is Good, Chicago is One again, the Wonder Years goes high society, Mariana Van Zeller investigates white supremacy, MTV catches more Catfish, the Worst Cooks returns, a new Race is on, and Fox Can See Your Voice.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME
⭐ The Book of Boba Fett (Disney+, 3 a.m.): The first episode stars a character who didn't represent the popular bounty hunter that previous lore has shaped for 20+ years. Maybe this week he realizes he is a crime lord and has people coming at him from all directions who want him gone or in their pocket. And in the flashback story, maybe he escapes the Sand People.
π₯ Casablanca (HBO Max, now): It's never a bad time to revisit one of the greatest movies of all time. It is certainly one of the most quoteable.✔️
Homegrown: Standoff to Rebellion (ABC News Special) (Hulu, midnight): SPECIAL. ABC News' look at the days, events and conversations leading up to the Jan. 6 attack from the eyes of anti-government groups. The special will air on ABC News Live tomorrow.
π² Jeopardy! (Syndicated, check local listings): Another Wednesday, another Amy game. $1,000,000 is in her sight.
πΊ Joe Millionaire (Tubi, now): Before the revival premieres tomorrow, revisit the 8-episode original series about women trying to woo man who they think is a millionaire but is actually a construction worker. It was a big hit back in the day and structured as a reality show within the reality show. Paul Hogan was great as "The Butler." Yeah, even I watched the show.

The Wonder Years (ABC, 8:30 p.m.): Bill and Lillian join high society club Lads & Ladies as a way to introduce Kim and Dean to positive influences in the community. Bill, Kim, and Dean fit right in, but things take a turn when Lillian is treated differently for being a working mom.
