What's On Tonight (Saturday): Marsai's Remix

Remix My Space with Marsai Martin

West Philadelphia born and raised! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, January 15!

Our top pick tonight is the new teen design makeover show Remix My Space with Marsai Martin (Discovery+, 3 a.m.). In each episode, Marsai Martin, a.k.a. Diane from Black-ish and/or Little Jordan in Little, gives a youth doing important work in their community a personalized bedroom makeover. Assisting her are carpenter Joanie Sprague and designer Tiffany Thompson. (Yeah, it is a slow night.)

Elsewhere, Made in Abyss arrives on Toonami, HBO goes on a Suicide mission, Showtime goes to Midsommar, Decades highlights the unknown stuntman, Housewives descend on Discovery+, and there are still secrets on Blade Runner.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

A Discovery of Witches (Sundance Now, 3 a.m.): Episode 2 of the final season.✔️

🎥 Gone With the Wind (HBO Max, now): Honestly, despite everything about the movie that makes it difficult to watch with its depiction the life in the Civil War-era South, I still have a soft spot for the movie. And it's 4-hour runtime never bothered me.

📺 The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (HBO Max, now): With one month until the gritty, dramatic reboot of this classic '90s sitcom, revisit the classic sitcom with young, streetwise Will Smith moving in with relatives in upscale Bel-Air. While the series is available on HBO Max, the reboot, Bel-Air, will air on Peacock, which won a bidding war for it.

Remix My Space with Marsai Martin (Discovery+, 3 a.m.): SEASON ONE. "Marsai Martin will showcase her love of design when she helps extraordinary teens get personalized bedroom makeovers."

WHAT ELSE IS ON
Ghost Hunters (Discovery+, 3 a.m.)
The Real Housewives of Cheshire (Discovery+, 3 a.m.): Seasons 2-10
A Discovery of Witches (via Giphy)

🕗 8 P.M. EASTERN / 🕖 7 P.M. CENTRAL

🎥 The Perfect Pairing (Hallmark Channel): "A food and wine critic falls for a single father after she bumps her head and loses her memory." I'm pretty sure this movie was written by a computer.

🎥 Safe Room (Lifetime): After Ian accidentally witnesses a break-in in the house across the street and records the horrific murder of the homeowner, Lila becomes embroiled in a deadly struggle to protect her son.

🎥 The Suicide Squad (HBO): This isn't Suicide Squad, this is THE Suicide Squad! "Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese." This is far from the quality that is the animated Harley Quinn, but it is better than the first movie attempt at this oddball team. The movie is followed by the premiere episode of its HBO Max-made spinoff Peacemaker.✔️

WHAT ELSE IS ON
Crikey! It's the Irwins (Animal Planet)

🕘 9 P.M. EASTERN / 🕗 8 P.M. CENTRAL

📺 The Fall Guy (Decades): Spend the weekend with Lee Majors, the unknown stuntman that made Redford such a star. To make some extra money, he uses his stuntman skills as a bounty hunter. In a two-part episode, he "chases a bond jumper who is a government agent on a mission to kill an international terrorist." The government steps in to ensure the mission's success. While I enjoyed the show for its '80s cheesiness, knowing how toxic it was behind the scenes has soured it.

🎥 Midsommar (Showtime): Florence Pugh and Jack Reynor travel to Northern Europe to visit a rural hometown's fabled Swedish mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.✔️
