Kennedy Center Honors |
Everything is hunky-dunky! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, December 22!
Tonight's Top Pick is The 44th Annual Kennedy Center Honors (CBS, 9 p.m.), which this year honors Justino DΓaz, Berry Gordy, Lorne Michaels, Bette Midler, and Joni Mitchell. This annual special — the ceremony took place earlier this month — is one of the few new things during the holiday dry spell. Every time I watch the KCH, I feel overly-cultured.
Elsewhere, It's Always Sunny at the end of a season, Hawkeye will probably face Yelena, The Matrix isreloaded resurrected, Cover Bands finish Clashing, Fox throws a Masked singalong, and Emily is still in Paris.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME
πΊπ Christmas Eve on Sesame Street (HBO Max, now): In one of Sesame Street's early specials (1978), Big Bird worries when Oscar tells him that if Santa Claus can't fit down the chimney on Christmas Eve, nobody would get presents.
Emily in Paris (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SEASON TWO. Where did we leave off? Oh, right. Emily's primary boy toy isn't leaving Paris to own his own restaurant because one of the older men who wants to smash Emily (and is her client) is backing the boy toy financially in a Paris restaurant. His leaving Paris drove him and his girlfriend, who is also Emily's BFF, to breakup, so the previous night he and Emily finally banged one out after a couple secret makeouts throughout the season. Any reunion will be awkward. Then again, most every interaction is awkward because Emily is always often timid and full of guilt. Me to this show.✔️
πΊπ How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming (Hulu, now): Hiccup and Toothless reunite to remind both their kinds of the inseparable bond between Vikings and Dragons in this delightful 2019 special.
πΊπ It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown (Apple TV+, now): The Peanuts gang prepares for the holidays in their own unique ways in this 1992 special.
Hawkeye (Disney+, 3 a.m.): SEASON FINALE. Maybe he will finally get a new costume. Oh, and he has to somehow save himself from Yelena. I wonder if Valentina will make a cameo. That way she can get a guest Emmy.
π² Jeopardy! (Syndicated, check local listings): Amy is a great player.
π₯ The Matrix Resurrections (HBO Max, 3 a.m.): "Return to a world of two realities: one, everyday life; the other, what lies behind it. To find out if his reality is a construct, to truly know himself, Mr. Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more."
πΊπ Merry Madagascar (Netflix, now): When Santa and his reindeer crash onto Madagascar it's up to Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melvin, and the penguins to save Christmas in this 2009 special.
π½️ Occasional Cooks (What's On Tonight & Pop Culture, 7 p.m.): What have you been making in your kitchen lately? Want some inspiration? Check out our weekly food thread!
πΊπ Sonic Christmas Blast (Pluto TV, now): Sonic the Hedgehog must stop the evil Dr. Robotnik from ruining Christmas after Santa Clause disappears in this 1996 special.
