What's On Tonight (Sunday): Party at the end of Insecure

Insecure

Happy Boxing Day! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, December 26!

Tonight's Top Pick is the series finale to the underappreciated Insecure (HBO, 10 p.m.), a show about thirtysomething Black woman Issa (and her friends) trying to manage an awkward social life with plenty of dead end relationships and a professional life where she seeks a career away from sexism and racism. The show has a distinct and unique voice about female friendships, life about minorities, and self-confidence.

Elsewhere, Yellowjackets face starvation, 1883 ventures to the wild West, Hightown's Great White operation is exposed, Desna is Claws Up, Yellowstone makes a difficult decision, The Freak Brothers ends its season, Letterkenny turns 10, and Curb Your Enthusiasm hosts an American hero.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

1883 (Paramount+, 3 a.m.): Thomas and Shea recruit James and some local cowboys to corral a herd of cattle. As they begin their journey, they are confronted with some of the many dangers they will face along the way.

The Freak Brothers (Tubi, 3 a.m.): SEASON FINALE. "The Candidate"

Letterkenny (Hulu, midnight): SEASON TEN. The season is a slim one with only 6 episodes. I didn't hear too much good about season nine, but this can hopefully be a return to form.

TMZ's Merry Elfin' Christmas: Bye, Bye 2021! (Fox, 7 p.m.): "Celebrities take over TMZ and hash out their top stories of the year."

Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO, 10:40 p.m.): SEASON FINALE. Larry gives out some unsolicited marriage advice. Larry hosts an event for an American hero.

⭐ Insecure (HBO, 10 p.m.): SERIES FINALE. "When she struggles to find the time to see her friends, Issa pauses to take a look back at the journey that brought her to her current position." The show did a time jump earlier this season, and while I was mixed on it at first, it works on where we have been going with the endgame. The ladies are closer to fulfilling lives, personally and professionally. Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji are sooooo good.

Yellowjackets (Showtime, 10 p.m.): As starvation looms, Taissa leads a last-ditch effort. Amid felony schemes and all-night stakeouts, the Yellowjackets are forced to partake in small talk.
