Occasional cooks: out of context ingredients

This baked ricotta with gorgonzola, grapes and walnuts has me in two minds.

It looks delicious, and any dish that is primarily cheese has my attention, but grapes in a savoury context give me pause. I know they appear in plenty of other savoury dishes, but I've never had them, and so I hesitate.

Of course, I've had plenty of meals with sultanas/raisins in them, like pilafs. And salads with apple or pear in them. So I can get there.

What's an unusual use of an ingredient that you love?
