The Justice Department will ask the US Supreme Court to block enforcement of the Texas abortion ban while it plays out in the courts. I don't expect this to end well. [CNBC]
A US Capital Police officer was indicted for obstruction of justice related to the insurrection. He's the first officer charged. I doubt he's the last. [CNN]
Did you get the Johnson and Johnson vaccine? An FDA advisory panel approved a second shot of the vaccine for all people 18 and over - not just those with immune issues. There could be full approval as soon as next week. [ABC]
Biden's commission on the Supreme Court released its findings but hasn't drawn any conclusions yet. They decided that Congress does have the power to change the makeup of the court but disagreed on various possible changes. They were more friendly to term limits than adding justices. [NBC]
