What's On Tonight (Sunday): This is The End

The End

Kon'nichiwa! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, August 8!

Tonight's Top Pick is the penultimate week for the first season of The End (Showtime, 8 p.m.). In this dark comedy import from Australia, Kate Brennan (Frances O'Connor) brings her elderly mother to live near her at a retirement home, though mom would rather die by euthanasia, which Kate opposes. Plus, Kate already has familial issues with her trans son and young daughter.

Elsewhere, the Johnsons play poker, global sportsballs finally end, the Legends hunt aliens, Showtime hunts for UFOs, Tuca & Bertie are having a rough patch, a walking deader arrives in Wellington, Blindspotting and The Deceived finish the season, and Generation Q is back.
