sweet chilli philly |
In a conversation elsewhere on this site, I mentioned the Australian super-easy hosting classic dip, sweet chilli philly. Turn a tub of Philadelphia cheese out on a plate, pour some sweet chilli sauce over, dig in with crackers. It's a favourite quick and easy snack to put out for a casual gathering, and manages to be just a little bit fancier than the usual 'serve the dips in their plastic containers' stand-by.
These days, Kraft even sells a ready to go version.
That got me thinking of other quick and easy takes that don't really pass muster now that we are all foodies - French Onion dip made from cream cheese and soup mix, using a can of cream soup to make a casserole.
It's all very 70s cooking.
Do you have any reliable 'hacks' (urgh) that you still use?
