What If...? |
Holy shitsnacks! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, September 1!
Tonight's Top Pick is the Marvel animated series What If...? (Disney+, 3 a.m.). Each week, Jeffrey Wright (as The Watcher) takes us on a journey by seeing an altered, important moment from within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What if Yondu took T'Challa? What if Agent Carter became a super soldier? Then, the show squeezes a movie's worth of plot into less than 20 minutes. It's a lot of fan service that I'm sure some fans love; I think it's terrible. (And not just because of its stupid ellipsis; I hate when they're placed at the end of a title or statement.)
Elsewhere, Rewind TV is on the air, Netflix tackles the 9/11 attack, Dug gets a show, a visitor arrives to a Horror Story, Archer goes down memory lane, PBS examines the Future of Work, z becomes an internet star, and Awkwafina supports Edmund's acting career.
