What's On Tonight (Thursday): Rumor has it that Gossip Girl is back

via weheartlit.com

Debatable sentiment at best ... Our Top Pick tonight is the new Gossip Girl, debuting on HBO Max. It apparently keeps the title, continuity and “universe” of the parent series, but isn’t a sequel. I’m guessing this means it will start with a steadily increasing number of nods to what happened before, followed by at least one of the original cast making an “OMG! They’re back!” guest appearance.

Let’s see what else TV has to offer us for Thursday, July 8. All times are EST.

STREAMING:
Gossip Girl, 3:01 a.m., HBO Max. Series premiere. “… a new generation of New York private school teens (are) introduced to social surveillance nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark. … explores just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years.”

The Dog House, 3:01 a.m., HBO Max. Second season premiere. “Set inside a rural British animal rescue center known for its commitment to matching homeless dogs with eager owners, The Dog House: UK captures the joy and complexity of the human-dog ‘dating’ experience.” Nine episodes available.
