Last Friday most every content provider took the day off to celebrate the birth of our country by blowing up a small chunk of it (except for those pinko, commie bastards over at Netflix). This week everyone is making up for lost time and the result is a bounty of new and returning programs. Did you like TNT's Leverage or the CW's Gossip Girl, both of which disappeared from the airwaves way back in 2012? Well, they're back in the forms of a sequel series and a reboot, respectively (Gossip Girl actually premiered on HBO Max on July 8, which explains why CW is premiering it on a Friday). Elsewhere Wayne Brady is renovating an aunt's house whether she likes it or not, Korean stand-up comic Lee Su-Guen has a new special, and NatGeo crowns the World's Most Dangerous Shark (see if you can guess who it will be, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised). Unfortunately nothing new tonight really strikes my fancy so I'm going with The Patrick Star Show for Top Pick. What's the difference between it and the original SpongeBob SquarePants series? If the ads are indicative, not a whole hell of a lot. And that's just fine.
