So, last week we did summer songs didn't we? But here's the thing, I'm currently frozen my butt off because it's winter here, and those lovely tunes about sun and happiness and people struggling to thaw did NOT represent me in the slightest. I'm calling the manager now because I WANT MY SONGS ABOUT WINTER FREEZING SHIT DOWN...! The manager said we can have winter songs this week.

Let's begin with a very melodramatic, yet very interesting AFI song, which absolutely feels as if it was written with the music video in mind, and pretty much everything about it just screams emo, including the moody representation of winter as a general life dealbreaker.
Sir Paul McCartney also kinda did this thing of writing a song to do a lovely music video afterwards, for this two-parter about a quiet, idyllic life in the fields preparing oneself for the arrival of winter.
Speaking of bubbly, not very AFI stuff, here's this very famous, very tongue-in-cheek winter tune that's not necessarily very related to its season, but it's there on the title and always someone will play it when referring to winter.
And now for something completely different, a winter song designed especially to tell people not to fuck with you or your bandmates, comparing yourselves to winter wolves who will tear their haters limb by limb. Barney the dinosaur, get into singing this next time!
No, but seriously, let's close with a very beautiful, really-really-really about winter song, written by Freddie Mercury in the last stages of his life, inspired by the idyllic winter view from where he was dying in. Can't get a better closing song than this one.
What's your favorite song about winter? Are you a winter person?
