Bastille Day is coming up, here's a huge collection of French recipes to celebrate with. The beef daube ("a classic French braise") above looks pretty divine. That buttery mash, with the thyme, and the sauce...

Or, if you want to French-up your breakfast, how about some egg, ham and gruyère crepes?

Hang on, gruyère? That's a Swiss cheese! Here's me and my brother, in Gruyère, in the 80s. Is that really relevant? No, but we loved going there, so any mention of gruyère gets me sentimental.

Here's another summery drink, via the Guardian. It's fermented, in case the appearance of the berries didn't clue you in, and is a way to use up past-their-best berries.

As someone with a huge aversion to mould in food, this is a huge no for me. I know this is not actually mouldy, but *shudders*.

The Takeout has a series on homemade ice-cream - this raspberry ice cream cake looks great. I have an ice cream attachment for my Kitchenaid, but you need to be able to put the whole thing in the freezer, and it's far too big, I have to literally remove all the shelves and have nothing else in there.
