Totally Tunes: Blaze It

I don't know much about weed, honestly. Never smoked blunts personally, but some classmates back in high school did and it was kinda funny to see them all dumber than usual and smelling like burnt grass sometimes. But, so it seems, it wasn't just my classmates: a lot of people do weed! And did you know musicians also get high? I know, big woah moment there. I didn't know how to segue into the teenage anecdote and the theme for this article, sue me. Anyways, here are some songs about musical artists blazing it.

There's no, or at least in my opinion, bigger stoner anthem that this incredibly dumb Afroman song, in where the artist just shares that he was supposed to do a lot that day, but didn't, because you guessed it: he got high.

Following on the "zero subtlety" weed songs, Redman got us this tune in where he shares his infinite wisdom on how to roll a blunt. Yes, you not only get a melody but a Weed Smoking 101 course, and hilariously odd lyrics like "purchase a philly, not the city of Philly".

Sometimes you get the very obvious weed song that can pass off as not a weed song, kinda like this Rick James classic that would sometimes, according to my research, be joined onstage by big dancing blunts. Trying to find a video of this was futile, so take the dancing blunts with a grain of salt.

Does heavy rock have weed songs? Oh, you heckin' betcha. Otherwise, just ask Black Sabbath and their ode to weed, written by all the bandmates, as they were all big friends with the mary jane at the time (and one would bet maybe now as well).
