What's on Tonight (Thursday): A chance to laugh at talk shows and say goodbye to Mom

After 170 episodes (with only less than 50 directed by James Widdoes!), some decidedly loose interpretation of how Alcoholics Anonymous works, one woman's Oscar win, the end of a supposed Hollywood marriage to last forever and plenty of opportunities for actresses of a certain age, tonight's top pick, Mom, is wrapping it up. I remember being at the A.V. Club when the show was greenlit nearly a decade ago. My thought was, "Damn, this would be a great comeback role for Beverly D'Angelo ..." I was quite vindicated when she guest-starred as "Dad's" ex-wife. Anyway ...

Let's see what TV has to offer us for Thursday, May 13. All times are EST.

STREAMING
Hacks, 3:01 a.m., HBO Max. Series premiere. Speaking of opportunities for older actresses ... Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder headline this new series (a sitcom, apparently) about the "dark mentorship" between "a legendary Las Vegas comedian and an entitled, outcast 25-year-old." I'm certainly intrigued. Two episodes available.

Intergalactic, 3:01 a.m., Peacock. Series premiere. Disgraced (but framed) cop and space pilot Ash Harper (Savannah Steyn) is forced to captain a prison ship led by Tula Quik (Sharon Duncan-Brewster) after a fatal mutiny occurs. Their goal is to reach a free world in a distant galaxy.

Homemade Astronauts, 3:01 a.m., Discovery+. Series premiere. TIL the "D.I.Y. space race" is a thing.

From Cradle to Stage, 3:01 a.m., Paramount+. "Pharrell and Dr. Carolyn Williams."

Restaurant Recovery, 3:01 a.m., Discovery+. Season finale. Two episodes available.

The Rich and the Ruthless, 3:01 a.m, BET+. Fourth season premiere. The sitcom about production of a Black-owned soap opera returns.

Sesame Street, 3:01 a.m., HBO Max. "Karli's Life Box."

The Challenge: All Stars, 3:01 a.m., Paramount+.

The Big Shot with Bethenny, 3:01 a.m., HBO Max. Two episodes available.

Ellen's Next Great Designer, 3:01 a.m., HBO Max.

Castlevania, 3:01 a.m., Netflix. Fourth season premiere.

Younger, 3:01 a.m., Paramount+/Hulu. "The Baroness."
