What's On Tonight (Sunday): Nevers gonna give you up

The Nevers

Hey, punk! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, May 16!

Tonight's Top Pick is HBO's Victorian-era steampunk fantasy The Nevers. The show is ambitious with the story of "touched" women — no relation — who have supernatural abilities and therefore live on the fringe of society. They have plenty of enemies, too, especially the ruling class. The general stories are in the same realm as other Joss Whedon shows as well as the tone which can fluently shift from drama to comedy. It doesn't break new ground. Though the costumes and music are fantastic. Really.

Elsewhere, Nolan finishes his third Rookie year, women in Harlem are set to Run the World, a wedding is underway in The Great North, CNN tries to understand the GOP, Miss Universe is crowned, MTV awards the best in TV and movies, Family Guy does flashbacks, Zoey says a goodbye, The Good Witch has a date, it's sunrise for more Shahs, the Therapy session ends, and Matthew Rhys, Ann Skelly, and Jamie Dornan are in an 1880s love triangle.
