Life, Death & Money, "Redd Foxx" |
Hey you big dummy! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, May 22!
Tonight's Top Pick is Reelz' occasion series Life, Death & Money, which profiles various celebrities and explores what happened after a celebrity died. (On Earth, not the afterlife.) Tonight, comedian Redd Foxx gets the spotlight, who could have had a career comeback with The Royal Family when he died in 1991, leaving others to pay his millions of debts. (Saturdays listings are slow.)
Elsewhere, Drama Club presents Minnesota: The Musical, the fall of a family on the Riviera is still unraveling, a Side Hustler becomes a mascot, the Promised Neverland is torn about killing demons, Margot Robbie robs banks, Final Space preps to rid the universe of Titans, Wonder Woman lives in the 1980s, and the cool commenters assemble for the final SNL live thread of the season.

🎥 Svengoolie: King Kong Escapes (MeTV, 8 p.m.): In this bad movie, King Kong is brought in by an evil ruler to dig for precious gems in a mine when the robot MechaKong is unable to do the task. This leads to the machine and the real Kong engaging in a tremendous battle that threatens to level Japan.
🎥 Twister (AMC, 8 p.m.): IOWA IN ENTERTAINMENT for $1600: Filmed partly in tornado-prone Iowa, this 1996 film starred Helen Hunt & Bill Paxton (6 May 2019)

He left behind a collection of comedy gold as well as a string of failed marriages and a mountain of debt — $3.6 million. His family and friends aren't fighting over all the money he had. Instead, they are scrambling to foot the bill to pay back the comedian's lavish lifestyle.

Food Wars! (Adult Swim, 1:30 a.m.): The Kyokusei residents worry that Central will weaponize the upcoming exams against them. Soma and Erina have a heart-to-heart.
My Hero Academia (Adult Swim, 12:30 a.m.): Class A and Class B are joined by a special guest as they battle it out during their joint combat training.
The Promised Neverland (Adult Swim, 2 a.m.): Emma pleads with Norman, explaining she has no wish to eradicate the demons; however, Norman is set in his decision and deaf to her arguments; to resolve their dispute, Emma proposes a deal.

📺 The Time Tunnel (MeTV, 3 a.m.): In the pilot to this terrible show, Tony and Doug find themselves back in 1912 aboard the ill-fated Titanic. It is a unique show because the two time travelers are never on screen with those at central command trying to bring them home.
