Totally Tunes: Someone Was Hiding in the Dark Room in My Home

Creepers gonna creep, amirite? Stalkers are a thing most people don't have, and they're better off for it, but those who have experienced being in the eye of a stalker, whether it is online or in person, know it's a real fucking nightmare. Someone being super obsessed with you is not healthy in any way, nor for the stalker or the stalked. There's been plenty of media products on the subject at hand, including a bunch of songs, with some getting the "grossly misinterpreted" treatment, too. Let's have a look at some of them.

As usual, we begin with the song that gives this article it's subtitle, this time being a tune about the aftermath of a deadly stalker with bad intentions hiding in the main character's house. The dissonance between the lyrics and the melody is a hoot.

For something more iconic and more paranoid, we have this 80's cheesy classic, where our protagonist doesn't only have one stalker, but multiple! Hell, everybody is watching him! Run, dude, run!

Speaking of classics, especially with lyrics that have a dissonance with the melody, comes this Blondie track, based in a real life stalker Debbie Harry had, she crafted the song in a somewhat cathartic way of dealing with the subject.

One of my favorite songs on the stalking subject has to be this insanely scary and creepy tune, which is written from the point of view of a very dangerous stalker, and comes complete with a musical arrangement that doubles down on the bad vibes of it all. Frightening as hell.

And, to close... well, you most likely already identified this song from the article's intro, y'know, the part where I mention the "grossly misinterpreted" tunes? Yeah, let's talk about that classic "love song" that's actually about an obsessive, highly possessive dude that, just like the narrator from the previous tune on this list, has dark fixations on their subject.

What's your favorite song about stalkers and/or creepers? Have you ever been stalked?
