Corporations tend to donate to both sides in an election so either way they have expectations from the winner. If Republicans keep trying to restrict voting rights they may find themselves in a donor deficit leaving them with nothing but gerrymandering and lies. [CNBC]

The Hate Crimes Bill protecting Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders proved surprisingly popular in the Senate. It easily overcame a filibuster and looks likely to pass. [Reuters]
Meanwhile the House Judiciary Committee is looking at a commission to study the effects of slavery and possible reparations. It's only a commission but it's been stuck in the House for 30 years and if it gets through this time it will never pass the Senate, [NPR]
