Sailing! Oh isn't it sailing great? Well, you tell me, I don't know. I was going to take sailing lessons once but ended up not being able to afford them anyways so didn't go. But maybe you have! Artists do, or at least pretend they do, when they write about sailing, swimming, the sea, and marine life, so you at least can live vicariously through those depictions. Let's have a look at some of them!

As it's usual, let's begin with the song referenced on this article's title, which is none other than one of -if not the most- The Lonely Island's greatest hits, an absolute showoff of a lyric set that you can freely use if you're ever on a boat and poor Jorma gets left behind because you decided to bring T-Pain along instead.
Even back in the days we'd have songs about sailing and finding love, such as this classic, which is on itself a translation of a French song about the sea, so as you can see we have various degrees of nautical love here.
Sometimes the songs about ships and the sea don't necessarily have to be about adventures. In this traditional Jamaican song that was sung by dock workers who worked throughout the night loading bananas onto ships, Harry Belafonte sings about waiting for the inventory man who'd count the bananas and ship them out.
