What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Strike's back, and then gone again

Tonight's Top Pick is the British crime series C.B. Strike (aka Strike to the Brits), based on the Cormoran Strike novels by J. K. Rowling. This season adapted the fourth book, Lethal Strike, published in 2018. The show stars Tom Burke as war vet-turned-private eye Cormoran Strike and Holliday Grainger as his assistant Robin Ellacott.

Elsewhere, Riverdale jumps 7 years, Beverly Goldberg is overly sentimental. Big Bend National Park gets the Nature spotlight, Nova explores the environmental impact of our household items, more Nancy and the Drew Crew vs. the Aglaeca, Henry the Alien struggles to keep his identity safe, and the Cecil Hotel is really sketchy.

Chicago P.D. (NBC, 10 p.m.): After a seemingly innocent young man is gunned down in the street, the team works to bring in the suspected culprit, but the case is more complex than it appears. Duh. And the grief-stricken father is determined to do his own undercover work.
