What's On Tonight (Wednesday): A new generation is all right 'cause they're Saved by the Bell

Saved by the Bell

Timeout! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, November 25!

Yes, Top Picks class is back in session with the next, er, third(?) generation for Saved by the Bell. While two original members are regulars on the new series — and others will appear — the focus is on a new group of Bayside High students, including offspring of Jessie and Gov. Zach & Kelly. SBTB is about to get socially aware.

Elsewhere, Notre Dame cathedral needs repairs, Teen Titans go to the movies, Mackenzie Davis brings home her girlfriend, Rory Gilmore wants to save local journalism, HBO examines D.B. Cooper, an rogue extremist causes the S.W.A.T. team problems, and TCM honors Sean Connery.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

The Christmas Chronicles 2 πŸŽ₯ (Netflix, 3 a.m.): Kate Pierce, now a cynical teen, is unexpectedly reunited with Santa Claus when a mysterious troublemaker threatens to cancel Christmas... forever. This means war!

Great Pretender (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SEASON TWO. Netflix's anime series that is not a follow-up to The Pretender.

Happiest Season πŸŽ₯ (Hulu, midnight): A holiday romance with Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis. Will Mackenzie come out to her family before the movie ends? You won't see this kind of movie on Hallmark! The cast also includes but is not limited to: Alison Brie, Dan Levy, Aubrey Plaza, Mary Steenburgen, and Victor Garber.✔️

Heroes of Lucha Libre (Crackle, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. "Heroes Of Lucha Libre is a superheroes show based in the centenary tradition of Lucha Libre. Fights, drama, heroes and superpowers combined on a show that offers the highest production and VFX standards in a powerful and entertained TV series."

Jeopardy! πŸ’² (Syndicated, check local listings): This Henry Baer is a good player.

⭐ Saved by the Bell (Peacock, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. A group of California low-income high school students are transferred to Pacific Palisades' wealthy Bayside High, following a program by California Governor Zack Morris. One of the kids for this follow-up is Jessica Spano's, who is also the guidance counselor, and another is Zach and Kelly's. A.C. Slater is a physical education teacher and coach. Reviews have been fairly positive. The show is aware of the problems of its source material and mostly does a good job of coming into the 21st century. One writer is Dashiell Driscoll, the man behind Zack Morris Is Trash. Most of the old cast -- Lisa, Zach, Kelly, and Max -- will make cameos. Give me Nikki Coleman! Justice for Tori Scott!✔️

Teen Titans Go to the Movies πŸŽ₯ (Cartoon Network, 7 p.m.): The young Titans' big motion picture comes to basic cable! The Teen Titans head to Hollywood to fulfill their dreams, but things go awry when a supervillain has other plans for the planet. It's a good movie!

A six-part series that "follows a single mother from Baltimore who – on the heels of a recent pandemic and growing social unrest – relocates to Atlanta in an attempt to dodge her troubled past. As she settles into her new surroundings, she soon discovers that there are some things she can never run away from."✔️
