Primal |
Happy... early Halloween? Tonight, there's no cartoon spooks on Fox, but I'll keep the spotlight on animation. (I do that a lot, don't I?) The second batch of Genndy Tartakovsky's beautiful and Emmy-winning Primal didn't slowed down in its year-long break. The dialogue-less show follows the adventures of the prehistoric man Spear and Tyrannosaurus-like Fang after they cautiously team up upon both lose their families (graphicly) to bigger dinosaurs. This is another step up in Tartakovsky's gorgeous style of animation, but not for those queasy to gore. Even animated, the show embraces a violent prehistoric world.
Elsewhere, ABC game shows in force, coronavirus gets the spotlight on 60 Minutes and Our Cartoon President, Maggie Cole is troubled, Keith Raniere gets what's coming to him, India Oxenberg speaks up about NXIVM, Lovecraft Country wraps, and Aurora Teagarden attends a high school reunion.
Is that your final answer, here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, October 18!

⭐ Primal (Adult Swim, 11:30 p.m.): A tribe of mysterious, primitive women seek to further their coven by using dark magic on Spear and Fang. Women, amirite? Last week, the duo fended off a zombie dinosaur that ended in horrific beauty, and previously, Spear fought hard to keep Fang safe after nearly dying in the midseason cliffhanger. They've also defeated Ape-Men, fought demon bats, and survived a woolly mammoth attack. The show is a bit sharper than Samurai Jack in its deepened storytelling and more layered than Star Wars: Clone Wars, even if the premise of a man-and-dinosaur team isn't scientifically plausible. This is A-level television.

That White People Shit (Fuse, 11:30 p.m.): King Keraun tours a Tiny House, kayaks the LA River, and visits a bug farm because some people put the mental in environmental.
