What's On Tonight (Saturday): Move witch, get out the way

Witches be cray (The Wizard of Oz; Hocus Pocus)

Happy Halloween! Keeping with the day of spooks, tonight's Top Pick is the AMC docuseries Eli Roth's History of Horror, which this week is spotlighting witches. Yay witches! It should cover classic witches like the Wicked Witch of the West to modern ones, like Hereditary.

Elsewhere, there are creepy movies and television shows galore! Some will make you laugh, some might even scare you. Also, The hunt for Eric Rudolph continues, Syfy's two originals finish their freshmen seasons, and Asleep at the Wheel gets a ACL tribute.

When someone asks you if you're a god, you say "yes," here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, October 31!

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

Bride of Chucky πŸŽ₯ (IFC, 7 p.m.): Spend the afternoon and evening with various movies of the Child's Play franchise. In the fourth installment, Chucky, the doll possessed by a serial killer, discovers the perfect mate to kill and revive into the body of another doll. Jennifer Tilly stars and this is what IMDb thinks she is best known for. Also, John Ritter and a young Katherine Heigl.

Dark Shadows πŸ“Ί (Decades, 7 p.m.): Spend the weekend with some early Barnabas Collins episodes. In this episode, Barnabas finds Maggie in the cemetery and puts her in the coffin in the mausoleum secret room.

The Fall (Ovation, 7 p.m.): When Eastwood's investigation into Olson's murder throws open some uncomfortable truths for Burns, Gibson comes under increased pressure in her hunt for Belfast's killer.

The Munsters πŸ“Ί (Cozi, 7 p.m.): Spend the afternoon with the Munsters! In this season one episode, when Eddie brings the family pet bat Igor to school for the Pet Fair Playground, he does not realize it's really Grandpa in disguise, and trades him for the weekend with a classmate. I always preferred the season two theme song.

NASCAR 2020: Under Pressure (MotorTrend.com, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. Vroom! Vroom!!

The Simpsons (FXX, 7 p.m.): You have to wait until after Halloween for the this year's "Treehouse" episode, but FXX has a marathon of all the previous ones. This particular episode is the 20th and one of the better ones of the somewhat recent era.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 πŸŽ₯ (MTV, 6 p.m.): Vampires... but they sparkle!!

QUICK HITS:
Saturday Night Football πŸˆ (ABC, 7:30 p.m.): Ohio State at Penn State

FOR THE RECORDArashi's Diary -Voyage- (Netflix, 3 a.m., special)

πŸ•— EASTERN / πŸ•– CENTRAL

Black Christmas πŸŽ₯ (HBO, 8 p.m.): This is the poorly received 2019 remake-ish film with Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, and Lily Donoghue. The IMDb ratings is especially harsh.

Candy Cane Christmas πŸŽ₯ (Lifetime, 8 p.m.): Joyride, but... a Christmas movie?

Christine πŸŽ₯ (Starz Encore, 8 p.m.): This Stephen King adaptation about an evil car was a favorite in my circle of high school friends.

The Lost Boys πŸŽ₯ (Sundance TV, 8 p.m.): Dianne Wiest and her sons move to a coastal California town full of teenage vampire punks. This is about as close as Joel Schumacher came to making a good movie. (Hot take?)

Manhunt: Deadly Games (CBS, 8 p.m.): Eric manipulates locals, militia and FBI alike as he plans a major counterattack. Richard appears on 60 Minutes in a high-stakes gamble to save his reputation once and for all. Later, Brennan realizes he needs to change course to catch Eric, and he forms an alliance with Embry. In Atlanta, Kathy Scruggs comes face-to-face with Richard.

The Meg πŸŽ₯ (TNT, 8 p.m.): A 75-foot-long prehistoric shark doesn't like people. Whodathunkit?

One Royal Holiday πŸŽ₯ (Hallmark Channel, 8 p.m.): Hashtag white people.

A Quiet Place πŸŽ₯ (FX, 8 p.m.): Yeah, I'm listing this good movie again. I like it.

Roseanne πŸ“Ί (Cozi, 8 p.m.): Spend the evening with the Halloween episodes of Roseanne. Of course, the first up is the second season "BOO!," an '80s classic.

Svengoolie: Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man πŸŽ₯ (MeTV, 8 p.m.): The resurrected Wolf Man, seeking a cure for his malady, enlists the aid of a mad scientist, who claims he will not only rid the Wolf Man of his nocturnal metamorphosis, but also revive the frozen body of Frankenstein's inhuman creation.

Cranberry Christmas πŸŽ₯ (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, 10 p.m.): Cranberries or bust.

⭐ Eli Roth's History of Horror (AMC, 10 p.m.): The witch is a towering figure in the history of horror. The archetypical evil witch is everything mainstream religion tells believers a woman should not be -- and that unapologetic, very female power frightens men and fascinates women.

The First Purge πŸŽ₯ (FX, 10 p.m.): Violence and mayhem spread across the nation when the New Founding Fathers of America try a radical sociological experiment that allows citizens to vent their aggression for one night in an isolated community. In Tuesday's election, the party is not on the ballot. Next time.

Them! πŸŽ₯ (TCM, 10 p.m.): Classic '50s flick about two bug experts, a state trooper, and an FBI agent tracking giant mutant ants from New Mexico to Los Angeles. I love it.
