Blast From The Past
🎥 Fever Pitch (Showtime Showcase, 7:45 PM) A perfectly fine romantic comedy in spite of the presence of Jimmy Fallon and the obnoxious on-field mugging by Fallon and Drew Barrymore at the end of the World Series. Never likely to be a Rewatchable, as Simmons has disparaged it as a 'chick flick' instead of his preferred 'spork flick.' Or in the more eloquent words of Roger Ebert: 'It is a movie about how men and women, filled with love and motivated by the best will in the world, simply do not speak the same emotional language. She cannot understand why he would rather go to spring training camp in Florida than meet her parents. He cannot understand why this is even an issue.'
