What's On Tonight (Sunday): Power is back in Ghost form

Power, Book II: Ghost

[Freddie Washington voice] Hi there! Tonight's Top Pick goes to the latest Starz series, Power Book II: Ghost, the first of four Power spinoffs for the premium network. I liked what I watched of Power. It wasn't prestige, but that's okay. The show filled a niche quite well. This series follows Ghost's son Tariq as he navigates his new criminal life and desire to shed his father's legacy, but he also faces pressure to save his family. Mary J. Blige and Method Man star, too.

Elsewhere, Lucy Worsley teaches us some British history, the Van der Valk remake arrives stateside, Cartoon Trump is back, Fox previews its fall lineup, the Halloween Wars are back on, Tigtone returns, Darrell Rivers goes to Malory Towers, Kamala Harris returns to late night, and Eve Myles has one last Hunt Together.

I am a Ford, not a Lincoln, here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, September 27!

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

60 Minutes (CBS, 7 p.m.): Bob Woodward talks with Scott Pelley about those interviews.

The Big Lewbowski πŸŽ₯ (Viceland, 7 p.m.): A must for anyone with a Jeff Bridges crush, but I think it a really terrible movie. The worst Coen Brothers movie by a mile.

Doctor Who πŸ“Ί (Retro TV, 6 p.m.): On Skaro, the Daleks arrive to find their creator Davros in suspended animation. They seek Davros' guidance to help them beat the Movellan race the Daleks are in a stalemate with.

Lucy Worsley's Royal Palace Secrets (PBS, 7:30 p.m.): SPECIAL. The fab historian Lucy Worsley gives us a tour of three of London's palaces -- the Tower of London, Hampton Court and Kensington Palace.✔️

Judgment with Ashleigh Banfield (Court TV, 8 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. Ashleigh Banfield is your judge, jury, and executioner!!

Our Cartoon President (Showtime, 8:30 p.m.): Yes, this show and its terrible animation is still around. Cartoon Trump launches a propaganda campaign to convince America he's got the pandemic under control. After social distancing guidelines force Cartoon Joe Biden out of the spotlight, he enlists Cartoon Barack Obama to help him recapture his glory.

⭐ Power Book II: Ghost (Starz, 8 p.m.): "Haunted by the legacy of his father, Tariq tries to understand who James St. Patrick was to the people in his life." That summary from Starz could probably define any upcoming episode. In the series premiere last week, Tariq is now at college wanting to finish early so he can access his trust fund, and Tasha is in prison after confessing that she ordered had Ghost, her husband, murdered. She is playing a game with prosecutors. Like Power, Courtney A. Kemp is the showrunner.
