This Weekend in Pop Culture: August 28-30

Welcome to the Weekend in Pop Culture! Let's examine what's coming out in theaters this weekend...

Hey, we actually have theatrical releases! (For now)

The New Mutants
Five of the few X-Men characters who hadn't yet been adapted to the screen fight for their lives. Quite possibly the only movie that's been delayed more than "Tenet."

The Personal History of David Copperfield
From the director of "The Death of Stalin" comes... a PG-rated adaptation of a Dickens novel? Huh. Go figure.

Bill and Ted Face the Music
Bill and Ted return, thirty years later and having yet to create their world-uniting masterpieces. Odd, that's not what the ending of "Bogus Journey" implied...

Also, what was supposed to come out this weekend was "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard," which hopefully will be followed by something like "The Hitman's Wife's Cousin's Bodyguard." It is now slated for next August.

What have you been watching?
