What's On Tonight (Thursday): '30 Rock' Returns For A Reunion Special

Via Pinterest

Hello Out There In Television Land---Today Liz Lemon, Jack Donaghy, Tracy Jordan, Jenna Mulroney, Pete Hornberger, Frank, and Kenneth, all reunite--i'm assuming virtually--in a hastily thrown together reunion special after that Parks and Recreation reunion did surprisingly well for NBC. So that's something to at least note tonight--this is What's On for July 16th 2020

Streaming

The House of Hos (HBO MAX): Reality based "docu-soap" (that is not a term) traces the multi generations of the Ho family whom emigrated from war torn Vietnam have since built up a multi million dollar bank, a real estate development company, and a younger generation whom have grown up quite a bit differently than their parents did. (HBO wouldn't just put something on that sounds like it could've gone to Bravo right???)

Indian Matchmaking (Netflix): New reality show focusing on a professional matchmaker who guides clients in both the U.S. and India in the arranged marriage process. (Its as good an idea for a central focus of a reality show as any I've come across before at the very least)

Fatal Affair (Netflix): New film that was made for theaters lands at Netflix "A woman tries to mend her marriage after an amorous encounter with an old friend, but soon realizes that her hold friend is more dangerous than she had initially thought" (Oh that old chestnut) Starring Nia Long (who reeeaaally deserves better material), and Omar Epps (whom at least got to appear on This Is Us this year)

The Secrets She Keeps (Sundance Now): New mystery series starring Laura Carmichael and Jessica De Gouw about two pregnant women whose lives collide in a chance encounter in a supermarket which builds and builds in unexpected ways. (I'm not sure where the mystery comes from, but its based on a book and is being billed as a psychological thriller)

DC's Doom Patrol (HBO MAX): 6th episode of the 2nd season airs.

Broadcast

Young Sheldon (CBS): Rerun (Pastor Jeff gets married; meanwhile George Sr and Meemaw struggle with wedding prep or something)

30 Rock A One Time Reunion Special (NBC): Top Pick of the night goes to this reunion special that I don't know what's gonna happen, but i assume some kind of plot is gonna bring everyone back together again right? Will it be funny? It damn well better be right? Otherwise what's the point?

Holey Moley (ABC): 2 Polish immigrants compete with a former world ranked pro golfer, a British stuntman, a man who manages whiskers (???); a cat lady; and a large putt. (???) Steve Guttenberg and Greg Lougains Guest Judge. (Does anyone actually watch this show??? I'm genuinely asking because clearly someone watches it--its in its 2nd season here!)

Celebrity Watch Party (FOX): Unlike this one which i'm pretty sure is airing to similar ratings that a test pattern would be getting if aired here.

Killer Camp (The CW): PREMIERE of new summer filler reality show where contestants spend 8 weeks in Camp Pleasant (Yep that's the name!) hoping to avoid being "killed" by an escaped maniac loose on camp grounds. The last one standing gets some cash prize I'm assuming. (shrugs--SUMMER TV EVERYONE--SUMMER TV!)

Cannonball (USA): "The Human Dart" (Ahh...I see)

Christmas Getaway (Hallmark): "A travel writer goes on the picturesque Christmas vacation she had planned for herself and her significant other even after her significant other dumps her at the last minute" Starring Bridget Reagan and Travis Van Winkle

8:30

The Unicorn (CBS): When Wade lands a job for Danny who is a newly divorced client, Wade quickly realizes that Danny is only interested in using him to try and meet women. (Well you know you are a unicorn!) (What do you mean the show's not about a literal unicorn???)

9:00

Mom (CBS): Christy and Bonnie look for a way to honor a fellow AA member when she unexpectedly drops dead at a meeting. (This'll be the third time this one's been rerun!)

Superstore (NBC): Rerun of that time Sandra got married. (Remember when that happened???)

Don't (ABC): Nathan, Zoey, Michaela, and Cody Ellison all compete on the show tonight playing games such as "Don't Miss A Boat" "Don't Beat Yourself Up" "Don't Wake Daddy" (wait that last one's a board game!)

Labor of Love (FOX): FINALE of this whatever this thing was. Will the woman finally choose a suitor/baby daddy for her little one or what? Will anyone care?

Master of Illusion (The CW): Reruns

Mountain Men (History): "Sink or Swim" Jake's 2nd mountain lion chase leaves him chilled; Eustace and Raleigh turn scrap steel into pure profit. (well why wouldn't it?)

Restaurant Impossible (Food): Soul Food and Home Cooking---Mama E's Wings & Waffles (Nice!) in Oklahoma City; then checking in on "Nanny Goats Cake and Feed Bin" (I think i like Mama E's better???)

Ghost Adventures (Travel): The ghosts of Tombstone AZ

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): he sings an Italian love song to his friend's sister, but now his friend's mom thinks he's proposed marriage for some reason. (Ohh Misunderstanding--SHAZAM!!!)

9:30

Mom (CBS): Bonnie and Adam go on a double date with Jill and Andy (Andy is Will Sasso whom I think is still gonna be recurring on the show when it comes back???)

Green Acres (MeTV): Lisa excitedly plans a long awaited wedding for Ralph and Hank Kimball. (Aww)

10:00

NCIS LA (CBS): Rerun

Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): Rerun (Kat must prove that the owner of her boxing gym is sexually abusing an underaged minor) (Did we know that Kat was an amateur boxer???)

To Tell the Truth (ABC): Tonight's panel includes Ashanti, Gary Cole (ooh!); Michael Ealy; and Stellan Skarsgard (No i'm kidding on that last one--could you imagine? Its actually Sharri Shepard)

The Bold Type (Freeform): Season finale (I believe?) finds Sutton visiting her hometown but falling into a familiar pattern; Jane finding a big story but it could end up having some serious ramifications for Jacqueline; Kat is reluctant to share her new romance with Jane and Sutton. (Eventually it'll come out I'm sure) (See You Next Season Bold Type Ladies!)

Alone (History): After being raided by predators, the participants scramble to protect their storage of food; Winter moves in and brings about a stark divide between those who prepared in advanced for it, and those who did not. (I already know that i'd be one of those people who wouldn't be prepared)

The Dead Files (Travel): Blood in the Bordello---Columbus Ohio. (Sounds about right!)

Impractical Jokers (Tru TV): Dinner Party Show 9! (God I almost forgot to include this! HockeyMike would've raised heck had i done that!)

10:30

The Misery Index (TBS): "A Brick In the Face" (All In All You're Just Another Brick In The Face...) This is this show's season finale (I think this might've been the last one they were able to make before quarantine happened)

HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY AND MAY THE SPIRIT OF KENNETH PARCELL AND HIS LOVE OF ALL THINGS TV FILL US ALL WITH THE SAME LOVE...OF TV!
