What's On Tonight (Saturday): Lost with Amphibians

Amphibia (via Tumblr)

Hiya! Tonight, I venture back to children's shows for the Top Pick but not via Nickelodeon. It's been a while since Disney Channel a Top Pick, so I'll select something from its new Saturday lineup. After all, the network hasn't had a Top Pick since... [*puts on glasses*] [*checks notes*] ...June 2016. This Saturday, the animated show Amphibia gets the spotlight. The show follows the self-centered 13-year-old Anne Boonchuy (Brenda Song!), who, after stealing a music box, is transported to the tropical island of Amphibia where anthropomorphic amphibians and dangerous creatures exist. I've watched a few episodes and... it's pretty darn good and certainly deserves more credit. Some rich animation and good to great storytelling.

Elsewhere, Toonami celebrates Adult Swim Con and with a special event will have an offset schedule, Ovation's import Partners in Crime comes to an end, HBO presents Ed Norton's passion project, the basket sports are almost back, villainous Dr. Havoc must be a hero, Animal Planet investigates Joe Exotic, pit bulls doggies and parolees are together again, and the saga of Lil' Slugger comes to an end.

Oh, Pancho! Oh, Cisco, here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, July 25!
