What's On Tonight (Monday): "American Experience" Takes A Look At The Fight For Women's Suffrage

Via Giphy

Yep, you know its a slow night when Top Pick is a PBS special about the history of how women got to rock the vote here in America. Its important info to know, and i'm sure it'll be plenty informative but still you know, there's nothing else on tonight??? Well take a look and you tell me--This is What's On for July 6th 2020.

8:00

The Neighborhood (CBS): Rerun of that time Dave agreed to paint Cedric's house, but Cedric for some reason has a code about letting another man do something for his own house, when he can do it himself. (This somehow leads to a ridiculous and very sitcommy feud between the two, but it gets resolved all nice and neat by the end because this is a sitcom on which everyone must still be good friends by episode's end)

The Titan Games (NBC): Western Regional Finals (Finally!!!)

The Bachelor-Greatest Season Ever (ABC): This week this retrospective Best Of show takes a look at the highlights of the Alex Michael, and Trista Sutter seasons. (Sutter was the first Bachelorette!) (I didn't actually know that, that was in the episode synopsis)

9-1-1 (FOX): Rerun

Whose Line? (The CW): Ricki Lake is the guest star on this NEW episode. (WOW!)

Antiques Roadshow (PBS): Women's Work which coincides with their American Experience special that follows this features atheletics, artists' etchings, actuarial tables, and various other artifacts that all show how women have contributed to the workplace over the many decades. (Well i do love it when two shows on the same network share a theme)

Guy's Grocery Games (Food):

Wakefield (AMC): Basic cable premiere of this 2016 film that stars former network star Bryan Cranston as a man who for some reason decides to run away from his life by hiding out in a shack behind his house (or in the floorboards beneath his house???) and I dunno how this is a premise but its based on a short story by El Doctorow and Jennifer Garner plays his wife.  (I remember seeing the trailer for this one and wondering how this was a movie, which is why I'm making note of it here!) This made $789,000 dollars at the box office---WHO WENT TO SEE THIS?!?!?!? (Ooh its Walter White and he's hiding underneath his house???) Written and Directed by Robin Swicord who also directed The Jane Austen Book Club (and is also Zoe Kazan's mom)

The Sweetest Heart (Hallmark): With help from a handsome immigrant banker, Maddie does everything she can to save her business. Starring Julie Gonzalo and Chris McNally. (Ohh those handsome immigrant bankers!)

8:30

Bob Hearts Abishola (CBS): When Abishola catches Kami in a lie about going on a date with the Nigerian pharmacist who was wooing Abishola, she ends up getting mad at Kami; meanwhile Bob tries to get Dottie to make out a will and she predictably doesn't like to think of a future where's she no longer around.

Whose Line? (The CW): Rerun of Jonathan Magnum 6

9:00

All Rise (CBS): Rerun of that time Judge Lola found a complaint filed against her which results in her having to defend herself in front of the Commission of Judicial Performance; Meanwhile Sara, Luke, Mark, and Emily are dragooned into having to do a mock trial of the Wizard of Oz for visiting schoolchildren on a field trip. (Dorothy is on trial for murder of the wicked witch if i remember right)

The Wall (NBC): Holly and Michael must face the titular structure.

9-1-1-Lone Star (FOX): Rerun!

Penn and Teller Fool Us (The CW): "Fool Us The Home Game"

American Experience (PBS):   "How Women Got The Vote" The Campaigns waged by American women for the right to vote resulting in the largest expansion of voting rights in US History. (There's gonna be a Part 2 to this tomorrow night!) (Whoa!)

I May Destroy You (HBO): The day finds Arabella reassessing a sexual encounter with Zain and following a promising new lead in the investigation, which leads to her opening up to Biagio about her assault. (Well its good to open up to someone right?)

American Pickers (History): In New Mexico, Mike and Danielle make an epic stagecoach stop and visit a frozen in time adobe village complete with ghost stories in a wild west town. (shrugs)

Big Time Bake (Food): Baking cupcakes and cakes that have various themes from the 1920s to them. (So cookies in the shapes of flappers then???) (New Great Gatsby flavored pop tarts!)

Buried Worlds with Don Wildman (Travel): An ancient cult is investigated by undergoing its most terrifying ritual in Peru, evidence of a supernatural war in remote caves is found and clue about bloody human sacrifice abound. (shrugs)

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Goober Pyle pays a visit to Gomer and nearly gets him committed to the care of a psychiatric hospital. (shakes head) Ohhh that Goober! (How are they related again???)

9:30

Green Acres (MeTV): Arnold may be the heir to a meatpacking tycoon's estate. (The Pig????)

10:00

Bull (CBS): Rerun of that time Bull had to represent a woman who sold the government this water filtration system that turned out to not work at all, in response the government arrested her and charged her with fraud, and Bull must convince a jury that she had no criminal intent when she took the money and unwittingly defrauded the government. (D'oh) (I hate when accidental fraud happens!) (Can you imagine the ads Bull must've done to land this client? "Have you or anyone you known accidentally defrauded the U.S. Government????")

Dateline (NBC):

American Dad (TBS): Steve's efforts to help a Swedish exchange student backfire in a big way; the family calls in an animal behaviorist to try and deal with Klaus.  (Nods) (TBS! TBS! TBS!)

Pawn Stars (History): A WW2 porter, handcuffs from an iconic prison; a tuxedo worn by Ray Liotta; a bar of soap that might cure obesity. (Ray Liotta eyy????)

Beyond the Unknown (Travel): "Scared To Death, and Martian Massage" (A Happy Ending in a Martian Massage is getting to go home unharmed!)

WELCOME TO THE WORK WEEEK!!!! THERE'S NOTHING MUCH ON TONIGHT, I KNOW IT DON'T THRILL YOU....I HOPE IT DON'T KILL YOU....REMEMBER WHEN THERE WAS TV??????
