The Least-Craziest Gif That Pulled Up When Searching 'Cursed Gifs'

What Up Party People??? Tonight Netflix has a splashy looking new fantasy series--executive produced by Frank Miller of all people---and it seems to be the only big new streaming debut this weekend, but maybe it'll be good??? This is What's On for July 17, 2020

Streaming

Cursed (NETFLIX): "A re-imagining of the Arthurian legend as told thru the eyes of Nimune, a young heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to grow up and become the powerful "Lady of the Lake" Teaming up with a young King Arthur, she journeys with him to give Merlin a powerful sword and becomes a symbol of rebellion among the townspeople against the terrifying Red Paladins and their king Uther" (oooook) Starring Katherine Langford, Gustaf Skarsgard, and veteran actor Peter Mullan as Arthur.

Absentia (Amazon Prime): This crime series that I literally had never heard of before returns for its 3rd season and it stars Castle co-star Stanna Katic. (So that's what happened to her!)

Central Park (Apple TV): This Friday night perennial runs its now standard new weekly episode--this would be episode 9!

Broadcast

8:00

Friday Night Smackdown (FOX): HOCKEYMIKE!!!  Its Friday!

Master of Illusion (The CW):

Sydney To the Max (Disney): Syd, Olive, Sophia, and Gwendolyn (I'm making that last name up, but be honest you'd never know if i was or not) are all excited that their float honoring brave women was chosen for the annual Portland Parade.

Mingle All the Way (Hallmark): "A young entrepreneur tracks her dating progress in a dating app to win over investor" (I guess that's one way to win over investor start-up money???) Starring Jen Lilley and Brent Daugherty, and apparently Lindsay Wagner is in this as well! (nods)

9:00

Magnum PI (CBS): Rerun (Tho its a good one--its the one with James Remar as the admiral who calls reservist Magnum back up into action--but it turns out its actually a scam) (Remar is great in this episode btw--very strong guest performance in a show not normally known for good guest star turns honestly)

Dateline (NBC):

20/20 (ABC):

Great Performances (PBS): Porgy And Bess by George Gershwin is performed in full!  (Bess You Is My Woman Now!!!!)

Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives (Food): Hour long episode features Tandoori Chicken Poutine; Petenta flower bombs, and Aranani Empanadas. (Nice)

Dead Files (Travel): A Historical Brothel in Butte Montana. (The thing that made it historical? Abe Lincoln stayed there!) (No i'm kidding, I have no idea what makes it historical)

Dino Hunters (Discovery): "We Got Skull!" (We Got Skull...Yes We Do...We Got Skull...How Bout You???)

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): He arranges a date between Carter and his cousin Bridey Pyle. (Shazam???)

HAVE AN EXCELLENT WEEKEND---I HOPE ITS GOOD AND NOT TOO HOT! (ITS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE MID 90S HERE THIS WEEKEND AND IF THAT'S HOT HERE IN NY, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW HOT ITS GONNA BE IN THE REST OF THE COUNTRY!)
