What's On Tonight (Thursday): That's The Sign Post Up Ahead, New Episodes of "The Twilight Zone" Return

Via Giphy

Hello All....Jordan Peele's reboot of The Twilight Zone from last year comes back for a second go-round of 10 episodes. What was the consensus on last year's reboot anyways? Moderately ok at best??? I don't know as I never got to see it, tho my curiosity had very much been peaked--Maybe this year I'll actually get to watch it someway??? Also this is my last ever chance to highlight Broke--the affable but soon to be completely forgotten CBS sitcom starring Abby from NCIS, Natasha Leggero and Jamie Camil, and they even threw in Kyle Bornheimer as Abby's ex husband in the last handful of episodes--and how could anyone turn down a chance to catch Bornheimer Fever?!?!?!? Anyways this is What's On for June 25, 2020

Streaming

The Twilight Zone (CBS ALL ACCESS): Dun Na Na Na-Dun Na Na Na-Dun Na Na Na-Dun Na Na Na-Dun Na Na Na-Dun Na Na Na (TOP PICK BABY!!!!)

Doom Patrol (HBO MAX): Second season premiere of this superhero option launches tonight with the first three episodes of its new season all available for streaming as of tonight!

Adventure Time---Distant Lands (HBO MAX): Beloved cult favorite animated show has a new special that was specifically prepared to try and pique peoples' interest in this streaming service.

Bad Mothers (Sundance Now): This show that i didn't even know existed comes to a close tonight with the last episode of its season. It was an Australian show and the synopsis of it kinda sounds a little like "Good Girls" but a little more dangerous.

Broadcast

Young Sheldon (CBS): Rerun of Dr. Sturgis finally getting out of the mental hospital and reuniting with Sheldon's grandma and things ending between the two of them. (shrugs) Wallace Shawn is good, but I never quite thought him having a mental breakdown was a good plot decision for the show to make.

Council of Dads (NBC): With a severe storm on the way, the Perry family seeks out higher ground; With Luly's help, Larry reaches out to assist his estranged daughter and granddaughter in escaping the storm; Luly pens a rather personal essay that ends up in the wrong hands. (The wrong hands??? Is there a rogue member on this Council of Dads here???? Some strange happenings are a foot here at the Circle K...I mean at the Council of Dads)

Holey Moley (ABC): Two Texans take on Uranus; a pro golfer and an instructor face off on Putt the Plank; With the help of Jon Lovitz (!!!!!!!!!!!!) a hardcore mini golfer and a motivational speaker zoom thru polercao. (I don't know what that is either!) The episode is called "Don't Attempt This In Clogs" (which is just good advice for things in general really)

Celebrity Watch Party (FOX): Episode 8---What do you think they're watching this week??? I'm gonna guess ummmm I don't know Murphy Brown. (What Is This Show Anyways????)(No I know its a bunch of "celebs" watching some show at the same time and commenting on it like a televised "Netflix Watch Party" This is something that will need to be explained to future generations)

Burden of Truth (The CW): In an attempt to build a case against Clear Dawn for the wrongful apprehension of kids; Joanna actually agrees to try and put together a class action lawsuit; Billy gets a tip from his father about a potential break in the case. (Build That Case???) (That lawsuit just got 10 feet higher!) (I don't know either)

Treasure Island with Bear Grylls (Discovery) New Series For The Grylls Man! (you think anyone's ever called him that before???)

A Taste of Summer (Hallmark): A restaurant owner clashes with a former baseball payer when she opens a new winery. (Why is the former baseball player opposing the opening of a new winery??? I like to imagine something completely and totally ridiculous like "A winery killed his mother" or something but its probably something less absurd) Starring Eric Winter (ooh from "The Rookie!" and Allison Shoemaker)

8:30

The Unicorn (CBS): Rerun from December where Wade is over the moon about finally having a girlfriend that he actually likes and gets along with while his daughters take advantage of him being out on a continual string of dates by having people over without asking his permission first. (Its actually handled pretty well despite being a sitcom-y premise--I've said before, its a show that's more heartfelt than funny, but i do like how the show deftly manages to sidestep a lot of delicate emotional issues that would doom other shows)

9:00

Mom (CBS):Rerun from April has Bonnie worried about her therapist (Rainn Wilson!) after he shows up to her therapy session all disheveled (he's been going thru an ugly divorce) leading to Bonnie having ask herself "Am I  actually friends with my therapist enough to be able to ask him how he's doing???"; Meanwhile Marjorie has a new job that she's having trouble adjusting to. (Oh Marjorie!)

Blindspot (NBC): To stop Madeline from shipping 2 planes full of ZIP to the US, the team splits up in a high stakes undercover mission and intercepts Madeline's son; Madeline interrogates an old ally to get info on the location of the team. (ZIP by the way was the fluid that caused Jane to literally lose all her old memories, its kind of dangerous so now you know that Madeline is a bad guy here)

Don't (ABC): Brothers from Atlanta bring their divorced parents again in an attempt to compete in challenges including "Don't Turn the Car Around" "Don't Play Ball IN the House" "Dont Beat Yourself Up" and "Don't Be Shocked" (I gotta tell ya, the idea of bringing a pair of divorced parents back together just to compete on a game show seems rife with disaster, but what do I know?)

Labor of Love (FOX): The remaining 5 men brave birthing simulations. (UGH WHY IS THIS A THING FOX?!?!?!?)

In The Dark (The CW): With stakes higher than ever for everyone, Murphy, Jess, Felix, Max, and Dean must each contend with the fallout following their attempt to cut off Nia's supply and take her down. (The episode is called "Bad People") (I totally forgot that this show was exec produced by Ben Stiller and the dark plotlines this season seem a far cry from Stiller's usual fare)

Mountain Men (History): Mike's scouting trip for bears turns into an airplane goat hunt (those words don't make any sense there show); Jake has a problem with a lion. (Well maybe if you sit down and try to reason with it, the two of you can hash it out!) (Lions can be reasoned with right???)

Restaurant Impossible (Food):

Ghost Adventures (Travel): A Quarantine Edition!

Naked and Afraid (Discovery): Did you guys know this show was officially back with new episodes????

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Gomer befriends a homeless hillbilly family and finds them shelter to set up camp in a secluded shack that's scheduled to be target practice. (D'oh!) (I mean "Shazam!")

9:30

Broke (CBS): My alternative Top Pick of the night goes to the now series finale of this sitcom (I liked it ok tho it was no Man With A Plan, but i probably would've kept watching it had CBS picked it up--the cast kinda made it work slightly better than you'd expect ) "When Sammy's birthday party location falls thru, the family scrambles to try and have it in their backyard; Javier and Elizabeth decide to look for their own apt. (Hey if they actually moved out, that would be the end of the premise of them all living together wouldn't it?)

Green Acres (MeTV): An error may mean that Oliver and Lisa are not actually married. (Oh that old sitcom chestnut--it was literally the plotline to the Mad About You finale back in 1999!)

10:00

SWAT (CBS): Rerun from April has A Bonnie and Clyde like couple tear up LA looking for chess pieces that used to be in their possession that are worth millions. (A Bonnie and Clyde like couple--do they have tommy guns and fedoras as well???)

Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): Rerun from November has Rollings going undercover to bust a ring of people drugging and assaulting tourists. (A ring of people doing this?!?!?!?)

To Tell The Truth (ABC): Panel tonight includes Mario Cantone, Raven Symone (THAT'S SO RAVEN!!!); Rita Moreno (That's So Moreno!); and Deon Cole (That's So...Cole???)

Impractical Jokers (TRU TV): Dinner Party Show 5---The very serious issue of \how long Q's beard now is is discussed in full. (nods) Very Serious Business!

The Bold Type (Freeform): Sutton grapples with her complex reactions towards the major changes that have occurred in her life; At Katz's urging Jane starts dating again; Kat plans her next move as she faces financial insecurity and turns towards Alex for help. (Nods---THAT'S SO BOLD TYPE!!!)

Alone (History): The contestants focus on a food source that can sustain them for 100 days (The episode is called "That Was No Bunny") (Put The Bunny Down!)

Summer Rush (Food): Tonight looks like its the season finale (tho how could that be when the summer's only just getting started in earnest???)

Kindred Spirits (Travel): "The Old Jail" in St. Augustine Florida is visited.

THAT'S ALL I GOT FOR TONIGHT. HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY...REMEMBER ITS ONLY A DAY ENDING IN Y---NO BIG DEAL, BUT MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, IT CAN BE A BIG DEAL FOR SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE!
