What's On Tonight (Thursday): Say Goodbye To My Favorite "Man With A Plan"

Via Giphy

Howdy One And All, Tonight we bid amen, farewell, and goodbye to Matt LeBlanc's CBS sitcom which I don't have to tell you was a show I enjoyed a great deal during its run and one that hopefully someone someday will watch and say to themselves "You know that was actually pretty decent" I've said here before several times that that show was destined to be in syndicated reruns on cable in the middle of the day and well that's not gonna happen with it being capped at less than 70 episodes sadly. But we got one more episode left at least--This is What's On for June 11th 2020

Streaming

HBO MAX has two new series premiering tonight (they're doing original programming???) called "Close Enough" and "Expecting Amy" (Close Enough is an animated show from the creator of "Regular Show" originally developed for TBS about a couple turning 30 and having wacky adventures while trying to transition into maturity.) (Expecting Amy meanwhile is about Amy Schumer coming to terms with her real life pregnancy--Oy)

Japan Sinks 2020 (Netflix): Anime series based on a book about a family put to the test when a series of massive earthquakes puts the Japanese archipelago into total mayhem. (If you like anime...)

Broadcast

8:00

Young Sheldon (CBS): Rerun from October--"with Dr. Sturgis still in the hospital, Sheldon seeks to find a way to stay academically challenged; Mary helps Pastor Jeff avoid temptation with his girlfriend." (If i remember right this is the one that has Ed Begley Jr in it as Dr. Sturgis' replacement, and he and Sheldon do not get along like at all)

Council of Dads (NBC): Antony contemplates a job offer that would mean a move to Vegas; Evan finds his loyalties tested between Luly and his strong willed mother; Oliver confronts Anthony about a deeply held secret that will rock the Perry family. (The episode is titled "The Perry Family" which that's just their name--that doesn't tell you anything about the episode!)

Holey Moley (ABC): "I Think We Just Made History On Uranus" A bartender and a government official face off against 2 massive rubber duckies on Putter Ducky; a social media influencer and beat boxer take on the Distractor of the Season. (Oh look spellcheck doesn't recognize the word influencer--i don't know why i find that amusing but i do)

Celeb Watch Party (Fox): Episode 6! (I don't know why they're bothering counting these!)

Burden of Truth (The CW): Kodie snatches her kids and goes on the run; Millwood Police look for her and with the threat of an Amber Alert, Joanna must track Kodie down to have any chance of keeping her custody case alive. (Yeah this was not a good move if you're hoping to win your custody battle there Kodie--your lawyer should've told you that!)

8:30

Man With A Plan (CBS): Top Pick of the night goes to (i mean it pretty much had to!) the series finale (Awwww) of this sitcom with Adam (aka "Not Joey") trying to give Andi the perfect 20th wedding anniversary gift by recreating their honeymoon. (The episode is titled "Happy AnnRVsary") (I'll Miss You Man With A Plan...I'll miss you and your ridiculous made up on the spot but perfectly sitcom-y plans!)

9:00

Mom (CBS): Rerun from March has Bonnie tries to give Christy perspective as she considers a life changing decision, and Jill thinks she is running out of time to have a baby and consults a fertility doctor. (I might not have actually seen this one actually)

Blindspot (NBC): "Head Games"---When Jane is shot and Weller is kidnapped, the team must fight to save both of their lives while maintaining the secrecy of their hidden base; Weller is haunted by some dark ghosts of Blindspot's past. (Dark ghosts meaning Roman I'm gonna guess) (Its always Roman) (Roman was Jane's eeeevil brother who was a cast member on the show for several seasons and yeah its gotta be him right?)

Don't (ABC): New game show hosted by Adam Scott where there are various challenges awaiting contestants as they are told not to do things! (hence the same "Don't") Tonight we got contestants from Brooklyn trying to master such rounds as "Don't Get Tired, Don't Blink, Don't drink, Don't Use Foul Language; and Don't Get Clocked" (The episode title is "Don't Be A Wiseguy") (I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the word "Don't" is said approximately 8 million times per episode)

Labor of Love (FOX): Game Night provides a deeper look into the contestants' parenting styles, One man dreams are crushed when he is put in charge of planning a child's birthday party. (ooook)

In the Dark (The CW): When Murphy and Felix concoct a new plan to destroy Nia, Murphy's friendship with Josh proves to be more beneficial than she expected; Jess makes a bold move with Sterling. (The episode is titled "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying")

Mountain Men (History):

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Carter has to select 4 men from his platoon for an honor guard. He has to decide whether or not to pick Gomer. (This should not be a hard decision Sgt. Carter)

9:30

Broke (CBS): Jackie secures a liquor store sponsor for the Cinco de Mayo party and Marty's Bar; Javier is thrilled to be the emcee of the party; and Jackie gets jealous when she realizes that Barry (that's her ex husband) is flirting with the sponsor representative. (Barry who is played by Kyle Bornheimer has been sticking around the show, and Jackie has made it clear that she has zero interest in taking up with him again because she kinda hates him, so why is she jealous??? Cause feelings be complicated sometimes bro!)

Green Acres (MeTV): Oliver and Lisa discover the farm is actually located in Pixlie and not in Hooterville. (Ohh Noo!!!!)

10:00

SWAT (CBS): For now this show is scheduled, but your guess is as good as mine if it'll air.

Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): The Human Trafficking In Chinatown episode that was supposed to be rerun last week is scheduled to rerun again tonight. Will it? We'll find out I guess.

To Tell the Truth (ABC): Tonight's panel includes Mark Dupless, Patti LaBelle, Kevin Nealon, and Constance Zimmer. (That's not a bad panel--kinda random assortment of people, but that's what makes this show interesting to list most weeks)

Top Chef (Bravo): The chefs are treated to a trip to Parma, the home of Regginaro cheese, and Prosciutto ham, the chefs must match the ingredients in 2 different courses, and serve them to a table full of 16 Michelin Starred chefs. (So Much Pressure!!!!)

Impractical Jokers (Tru TV): Dinner Party Show 4 has Sal thinking he might have gotten his food delivered. (Would it matter if it was?!?!?!? Is that the joke??? I don't get it)

The Bold Type (Freeform): Picking up its season after a couple months off the schedule is this show where "3 months after her surgery, Jane returns to Scarlett with new emotional duties; Kat faces a hard truth when she's forced to take some responsibility; and Sutton goes to bat on her first shoot and gets some shocking news that upends her world" (Is it the same shocking news from the Council of Dads that rocks their world???)

10:30

The Misery Index (TBS): Why animals should never drive vehicles; why Joe thinks the answer is always ISIS; and an NSYNC star makes a surprise appearance. (Cue GIF of Milhouse screaming ITS NSYNNNNNNNNNNCCCCCCCCCC!!!!!!!) (The episode is titled "They Didn't Blur The Dog?" which is not a bad episode title if I do say so myself!)

HAVE A ROCKIN' NEW YEAR'S EVE THURSDAY EVERYBODY! (But Its June!) (WELL HAVE ONE ANYWAYS!!! AIN'T NO RULE IN THE RULEBOOK SAYS YOU CAN"T HAVE A ROCKIN' NEW YEAR'S EVE ON A RANDOM THURSDAY IN JUNE!!!!)
