What's On Tonight (Sunday): I Know This Much Is through

I Know This Much Is True
Happy Sunday! Tonight, we bid au revoir to the latest HBO limited series I Know This Much Is True. And like most of HBO's output in the past year, I've found it to be a disappointment. Starring Mark Ruffalo as twin brothers, the program is quite depressing as we watch the mentally ill Thomas get shuttled away and Dominick struggling to cope with losing his brother and a lot of other family grief. While it features some great scenery and performances from Ruffalo and others, the story doesn't allow much room for empathy and most of the time, the characters are stressed and angry about something or at someone. Set in 1998, it has standout moments, including some that hold up a mirror wanting us to reflect at how times haven't changed. Some of them work, but they can also get lost in the layers brooding.

Concluding elsewhere are Quiz and Hetty Feather and Insecure ends — but Issa and company will return. For some all-new offerings, History revisits the Allied leaders of World War II, The Weather Channel get Weird, PBS follows a Brit's journey to colonial India, and CNN hosts a town hall with mayors. Also, 30 for 30 revisits McGwire vs. Sosa, Prince Albert gets documentary treatment, Billions has its final episode until Hollywood reopens, Grantchester is back minus a star, and the classes are clashing on the Snowpiercer. Is that your final answer, here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, June 14!
