What's On Tonight (Saturday): A Dark fight for a better future

Dark (via Tumblr)
Hello all you people out there in Pop Culture Land! Tonight, the Top Pick is the release of the final season of Netflix's first German series: Dark, a sci-fi thriller that is one of the best shows of the current era. It's concept is in the same league as the highly-praised 12 Monkeys, but Dark is a large ensemble that spans generations in its time travel and throws in many, many twists, especially its play on the bootstrap paradox. In the small town of Winden, a nuclear plant is the cause of a wormhole problem, but it takes decades for some of the townsfolk to uncover a related mystery about missing children that always originates at a cave opening. Over time, we learn there are much bigger forces at play -- reminding me of Fringe, too. This show spans several eras and many faces to a single person, so you might want to grab a journal and take a notes. It's well worth it.

Elsewhere, Toomani finally gets to My Hero Academia's season finale, the Beresfords' uncover the identity of Mr. Brown, celebrities raise money to defeat COVID-19, Dan Torrance battles the True Knot, Maj. Anthony Nelson finds a bottle, and the Tet Offensive nears. Yes, I speak Groot, they taught it on Asgard. It was an elective, here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, June 27!

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

⭐ Dark (Netflix, 7 p.m.): THIRD and FINAL SEASON. In the third and final season, Dark moves "beyond the concept of space and time." In these episodes, "upon arrival in a new world, Jonas tries to make sense of what this rendition of Winden means for his own fate, while the ones left behind in the other world are left on a quest to break the loop that now not only bends time but also space. Two worlds. Light and dark. And in the center a tragic love story of epic proportions." Don't expect much comedy in this show. The chess pieces at work here is a never-ending journey as viewers and the characters try to unravel mystery after mystery of travels in time and space. It's wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff but has some definitive rules that can be broken with a cost. Of course, this show should be watched with subtitles and not with the dubbing because we aren't heathens.✔️
