What's On Tonight (Friday): "Da 5 Bloods" Comes Straight To Your Home

Via Giphy

Hola, Como Estas?  There's not much on tonight as even the streaming platforms seem to be light in terms of new content tonight, where as they're usually overflowing on Fridays--but Netflix does have the premiere of Spike Lee's new movie which was supposed to get a theatrical release this year but when that got cancelled, Netflix was like "Well we don't really need theaters to still premiere stuff" and so here it is coming straight to your door whether or not you even want it, it's a new drama about a group of soldiers reflecting on their time in Vietnam starring Delroy Lindo and Chadwick Boseman. This is What's On for June 12th 2020

Streaming

Artemis Fowl (Disney Plus): Premiere of a busted theatrical that looks like it could be entertaining for da kidz out there! (It looks like its a spy movie starring a young boy being recruited and taught the ways of espionage--This looks to be very much up my soon to be 8 year old nephew's alley)

Da 5 Bloods (Netflix): Another premiere movie of something that would've surely played in theaters otherwise, this new Spike Lee movie (starring Delroy Lindo, Clarke Peters, Isiah Whitlock Jr, Norm Lewis, Chadwick Boseman, Giancarlo Esposito, Jean Reno, Melanie Thierry, and Paul Walter Hauser!) (good cast!) This new Spike Lee written and directed film is about a one time band of brothers in Vietnam reuniting in Vietnam 40 plus years after successfully leaving it to search for buried treasure and the remains of their former squad leader (played in flashbacks by Boseman) The NY Times article about this had Lee saying that budget restrictions had the 4 actors playing their younger selves without use of makeup or special effects a la The Irishman and he felt it worked out better than he would've thought since its the characters flashing back so its ok if they all look like their modern day selves. (Well Delroy Lindo is pretty ageless...)

F Is For Family (Netflix) 4th season premiere of this animated show starring Bill Burr

The Woods (Netflix) Polish language television mystery series based on a Harlan Coben book!

Good Swords (Hulu): New looks like digitally animated show (???) (the pictures of it kinda look claymated but that can't be right can't it?) about a good hearted peasant landing a job as a squire at his town's castle, but finding out that the people he's charged with protecting are really terrible people. (So its a parable set in feudal times and it may or may not be claymated) Starring Nicholas Hoult, Tony Hale, Adam Pally, and ooh Breckin Meyer!

(Sorry about the whole wrong date thing)

MacGyver (CBS): rerun (Mac and Desi must help a group of Syrian refugees escape human traffickers while Bozer is trapped inside a car that's rigged to explode)

9:30

Green Acres (MeTV): Lisa presents Oliver with a list of gifts she would like for her upcoming birthday (Dahling!!!) and the town stages an intervention (For her because she likes so many things???)

10:00

Blue Bloods (CBS): Rerun (Erin disagrees with the psych consult she hired in the case she's prosecuting of a nanny accused of abuse; Eddie confronts her boss at the precinct; Frank must make some staffing changes he doesn't agree with; and Danny and Baez investigate a woman's claims that she overheard someone plotting a murder)

Trackers (Cinemax): "As Lemmer, Lourens, and Flea drive on with their cargo, Lemmer notices a car on his tail; After Inkunzi fails to intercept Osman's blood diamonds; Raj's surveillance leads to a heated meeting between the two men; and an American gets carjacked" (I don't know what any of this means but this South African import has promised to feature a lot of action so we'll see)

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND YOU GUYS!
