What's On Tonight (Tuesday): Black-ish Has Its 6th Season Finale And Things Will Never Be The Same

Hello all, tonight ABC bids farewell to its Tuesday night sitcom block with a night of season finales. The CW meanwhile is still new and George W Bush is still camped out at PBS...This is What's On for May 5th 2020

8:00

NCIS (CBS): Rerun from January that had a body being found in an unmanned aerial vehicle testing site and the team has to determine if it was murder or just a horrible accident. (Its murder--its always murder!); Palmer meanwhile has to seek his own replacement as he finally interviews for an assistant. (Cause you see for many years he was the assistant M.E. and now he's officially the Chief M.E!)

The Voice (NBC): The results of last night's Top 17 performances. I'm guessing someone will go home???

The Conners (ABC): In this second season finale, Darlene and Ben go apartment hunting; Jackie and Becky take Beverly Rose on a road trip to Mexico to meet her dad Emilio for the first time (Awww); and Dan reluctantly shares his financial troubles with Louise. (The episode is titled "Bridge Over Troubled Conners" and unlike other shows, this show actually got to finish out its episode order intact because ABC only ordered 20 episodes as opposed to 24 the way they did their other sitcoms) (ABC ordered as many as they could, the veteran cast initially didn't wanna do more than 13 so how ABC talked them into 20 is a good question--i'm guessing money played a part???)

The Flash (The CW): When Godspeed returns, Barry turns to Hartley Rathaway for help but things get tense after Barry quickly learns that one of the ripple effects from Crisis is that The Flash and Pied Piper are now enemies rather than friends (Ohh Nooo!!!!); Iris tries yet again to escape from the Mirrorverse. (She's STILL trapped there?!?!?!? My God Flash writers, this should've been a one and done plotline!)

Queen At War (PBS): How WW2 shaped the reign of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd--the longest serving monarch of British history. (Long live the Queen????) (By which i mean Oliver Queen!)

A Valentine's March (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel movie of the evening is this one where "A woman runs a festival auction with her ex fiancee on Valentine's Day" (Nothing awkward there) Starring Bethany Joy Lenz, Luke MacFarlane, and Mary Margret Humes (Hey i've actually heard of all 3 of these actors this time around as they've all been on tv shows i've watched in years past)

8:30

Bless This Mess (ABC): The 2nd season finale of this show (which i maintain is actually pretty solid) has "When a tornado touches down on Bucksnort, everyone's concerns about their current situations are heightened; Mike and Beau are still at odds about their egg business; and a mix up with a pregnancy test leads to some confusion for all the series regulars." (All of them??? Even Ed Begley Jr?!?!?!?) (Especially Ed Begley Jr!!!)

9:00

FBI (CBS): Rerun from December that finds a former kidnapping victim accused of series of murders including that of the daughter of an NYPD detective who wants to take matters into his own hands. (That never ends well); Kristen feels ill equipped in the field and starts to hesitate about her fitness for field work after years spent as an analyst. (To be fair she was a good analyst!)

Ellen's Game of Games (NBC): Actual New Episode Tonight titled "My Heart Will Know Or Go On" (How is that a pun??? They're usually puns!!!)

Mixed-ish (ABC): The first season finale of this well done 80s set sitcom finds Alicia and Paul both being offered staffing jobs on the Presidential Campaign of Jesse Jackson but Alicia's law firm makes her an enticing offer to stay there instead; Rainbow struggles to define her racial identity on a form. (Filling in two bubbles on the Scantron sheet isn't an option here???)

Legends of Tomorrow (The CW): Everyone is eager to use the Loom of Fate but the team must decide who they want to bring back first; Sara struggles to understand what has happened to her and with the help of Constantine and Ava, try to figure out how help. (Loom of Fate! Loom of Fate! Loom of Fate!)

American Experience (PBS): Night 2 of the PBS documentary of the eventful 2 terms of President George W Bush. (Hey I was alive then!!!!) (It always feels weird to see recent history being chronicled by PBS--like I was alive and reading the news then, well watching The Daily Show at least, I'm not old enough to see historic events I lived thru being chronicled by PBS damnit!)

Natalie Wood-What Remains Buried (HBO): New HBO documentary takes a look at the life and suspicious drowning death of Natalie Wood and well how many times can a documentary be made about this exactly???

Lost Gold of WW2 (History): New series about the location of a possible treasure vault beneath a waterfall; A guy by the name of John thinks he's found a way in but nature proves to be an obstacle; new info is revealed about a found knife. (IS IT THE TIME KNIFE???) (CHIDI SAW THE TIME KNIFE YOU KNOW!!!)  ("The Time Knife?!?!?!?")

Chopped (Food): The various contestants attempt to take on one of the judges in this "Beat the Judges" season and tonight they deal with escargot in the appetizer basket and a super spicy surprise in the entree basket.

Ghost Adventures (Travel): Alcatraz is visited. (Hey i have a T-shirt from there!)

Drain the Atomic Ghost Fleet (Nat Geo): US nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll are profiled. (Ooook)

Deadliest Catch (Discovery):

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): That time that Gomer and Sgt. Carter go a dating game show as available bachelors. (Well why not???)

9:30

Black-ish (ABC): This venerable sitcom's 6th season finale tonight finds Dre having to deal with a new kind of reality when he discovers something about Pops and Ruby (I'm guessing they hook back up??? As unlikely as that would be, that's the only thing I can think of that Dre would be disturbed by with the two of them); Junior feels the pressure to find love (what why?) so he tries to rekindle the flame he felt for a former girlfriend by trying to make a grand gesture to win her back. (Ohhh Junior--well maybe it'll actually work--i mean its the season finale right???)

One Day At A Time (POP): Rerun of the season premiere where the gang is fearful of the census worker who knocks on their door asking questions. (The census worker doesn't care, Census Worker just trying to get thru his or her day--most of them are volunteers anyways!)

Green Acres (MeTV): Oliver has a run-in with a stranger while on a picnic, but when no one in town can verify who this stranger is, Oliver wonders if he made him up. (Oh that old sitcom plotline! The Simpsons did this with Ray Romano as the friendly roofer that Homer befriends--remember that one? Everyone thinks he's talking to himself because no one can see Raymond the times that Homer's like "Don't you see him? He's right there!")

10:00

FBI's Most Wanted (CBS): Actual New Episode (!!!!) finds  the team tracking down a father and son bank robbing duo when the two of them somehow manage to escape a prison transport vehicle that was escorting them to court, the team must try to get them before the duo get enough money together to escape the country. (Oh did i neglect to mention that the duo immediately go robbing banks again??? You'd think they'd wanna shower or freshen up or something first right?)

New Amsterdam (NBC): Rerun!

For Life (ABC): Aaron finally gets his chance to argue for his retrial in court, but its thwarted by the return of prison warden Cyrus Hunt (awww); Safiya deals with the aftermath of the prison riot and attempts to salvage reforms. (Well why wouldn't she???)

Tirdy Works (Tru TV): Series premiere (Wait what happened to Hot Ones the Game Show???) "After her video of moose turds goes viral, Mary quits her day job to start her own business but when her partner Deb doesn't think it can be profitable, Mary must find a way to prove Deb wrong by the end of the winter" (Well the business is youtube viral videos soooo you can never go broke underestimating the American public I guess is an old saying that will get tested here)

Skinwalker Ranch (History): Strange anomalies are found under the ranch so Brandon and the team dig, dig, dig. (shrugs---well why shouldn't they???)

Supermarket Stakeout (Food):

Ghost Nation (Travel):

Drain the Viking Seas (Nat Geo): After vanishing for 450 years, a battleship in the Baltic Sea is found. (450 years???)

10:30

The Last OG (TBS): On Thanksgiving, Tray cooks up beef with his longtime rival and cousin Fred; Amina and Shahzad get to know the good, bad, and ugly sides of their extended family. (Awww)

THAT'S ALL I GOT HERE---HAVE A GREAT TUESDAY ONE AND ALL!
